Il Canto dell'Asino

This place is a gem. I highly recommend it for any couple wanting a romantic weekend. Newly renovated, retaining old features but fitted with the best of modern amenities. A lovely balcony for an aperitif overlooking the vines. I loved it here and wished I could have stayed longer.

Eleonora, Nicholas and Eleanora's mother are absolutely lovely people. Hospitable, kind and generous, they made our time at Il Canto dell'Asino a truly memorable one. The accommodation was spotless and very comfortable. The donkeys and sheep (Marie and Pierre) are so well cared for and loved, and being with them made the visit very special. Eleanora most generously accommodated my wish to interact with the animals as much as possible and invited me several times to help with brushing and/or to just hang out. The location is well out of the way, yet within very close proximity to a number of interesting places. Overall, looking back on our time in Italy, our stay here was indeed the highlight of our trip. Eleonora is always available to satisfy guests' requests. Charming place a short distance from famous sites, where you can enjoy beautiful views and relax surrounded by unspoiled nature.

Great B&B set in the green hills and half an hour's drive from the main cities. The breakfast with eggs, bread, and fresh cheeses was also excellent. Eleonora made us feel at home!

Located at the top of the Umbrian hills between Gubbio and Perugia, Il Canto dell'Asino is a small corner of paradise for those who, like me, love nature and music. Kindness, sympathy, and availability of Eleonora add value to a wonderful place where to forget the chaos of everyday life. I will come back!

I recommend it to those looking for peace, silence, tranquility, and hospitality. I felt pampered and at home.

I highly recommend passing by, even just for a few nights, to enjoy the tranquility that the place transmits. Breakfast service, rooms, and company TOP! The main feature, as the B&B's name itself suggests, is the pleasant presence of the donkeys with which (if you enjoy) you can go trekking and take care of them. So I really recommend this enchanting structure.

Quiet location, for those seeking genuine contact with nature. Suggestive panorama of all the surrounding hills. The owner is very kind, allowed us to spend time with the donkeys and is available for any information and support. Cozy place and atmosphere. Recommended!

If you want to have a holiday where: I get ready, go out and find everything outside the bed and breakfast, and if you don't like nature and animals, forget it. On the contrary, if like me, you enjoy contact with people, and I assure you that the hosts are very kind and helpful, together with this we add a farmhouse excellently restored with a garden and adjoining lands with gentle and affectionate animals, a breathtaking landscape and starry sky and especially if you have children you are in the right place, we had a great time. Also recommended for bikers (2 km of beautiful dirt road).

I must admit that I had high expectations for this B&B: the name with its musical and intimately poetic connotations intrigued me. I also liked the idea that it was rather secluded from the "noise", both acoustic and luminous, of a city even if not large in size like Gubbio. It took me very little time to realize that my expectations were far exceeded by reality. The road to reach the destination crosses beautiful hilly landscapes and should be traveled and savored slowly in its curves and ups and downs that reminded me of my beloved cycling races in Flanders and Wallonia. The prize at the finish line is to conquer this little corner of paradise that I immediately fell in love with. It's not in my nature to give a too technical and detailed judgment: I can only say that it was a wonderful stay from all points of view. Appreciate the discreet presence of the donkeys and their sweetness, enjoy the view, the tasty breakfasts, and the large garden but above all... Enjoy the Silence! Go out in the dark and let yourself be carried away by the sound of the wind, the chirping of crickets, and the wonder of a sky uncontaminated by artificial lights. A separate chapter deserves the managers of the property: Eleonora, the true driving force of the house, Nicola, and mom Gianna welcome guests with understated kindness and discretion. It takes little time to forget that you are a "customer" and be fascinated by their style, their culture, and their intelligence. Despite the beauty of the places I have visited and the goodness of the gastronomic delights that the region offers, the most beautiful thing that happened to me on this vacation was the honor of meeting them.

The welcome, courtesy, and friendliness of Eleonora made us feel immediately 'at home'. The view is breathtaking, in the evening with the starry sky and the fireflies in the garden it is even more fascinating. The company of Tosca and the big sweetheart Mozart with four legs is very pleasant, as well as that of the very intelligent and affectionate donkeys! We really enjoyed the 2 nights in this wonderful place, which we truly recommend to everyone; the only attention to pay is to the road to get there: the first time try not to do it in the dark otherwise you risk getting lost, being in the middle of nature also means this! Highly recommended also the trekking with the donkeys, truly an unforgettable experience.

An authentic oasis of peace, special in every way, to be enjoyed calmly.

The strong points of this Bed and Breakfast are: 1 - Certainly the strategic position in the countryside, but very close to the city of Gubbio. The view of Perugia and the valley below is spectacular. 2 - The tranquility of this place lost in the middle of the countryside that gives you an important sense of peace. I was there with my wife and almost 2-year-old child. Everything I wanted from a Bed and Breakfast. Highly recommended to anyone. We will definitely come back. Thanks to the two owners of the Bed and Breakfast, two lovely people.

Unfortunately my partner and I stayed only one night. The place is 30 minutes from Gubbio and it's enchanting, immersed in nature and peace. Great for those who need to unwind a bit. The owner is very nice and kind. The breakfast is abundant and with homemade products, truly delicious, finger-licking good! We will definitely come back. We recommend it to everyone, young and old.

Lovely place, definitely worth going back for a weekend! The B&B is located in the middle of nature, on a silent clearing from which you can see Perugia and easily reach trattorias and restaurants. The owners are an adorable couple who make you feel at home, preparing a breakfast with homemade products. You couldn't ask for more for a weekend getaway!

Great for nature lovers who want to spend a few days in tranquility. The managers Eleonora and Nicola are truly lovely people and treat their guests excellently. Spacious and clean rooms, equally clean bathroom, abundant and excellent breakfast, with homemade products by them (bread, jams, muffins). I would gladly return.
