Agriturismo Corte Vaona

We were at Caterina's for the first time and will definitely come back. The place is incredibly special. You need a car and are secluded from the hustle and bustle. You have the perfect view and feel like you are in an old Italian film set in summer on an old Italian manor. I have rarely been so relaxed after a short stay. We especially liked the seclusion because no cars take the winding, charming roads unless they have something to do nearby. Caterina and her family are great hosts. We felt welcome, as if we were part of the family and not just "guests". I can also definitely recommend trying and buying the wine the family produces. In the evenings we drank a glass on the terrace with a dreamy view over the Valpolicella valley. I am highly allergic to gluten and Caterina was excellently informed. She asked about my preferences regarding homemade versus packaged pastries (without any cross-contamination) and prepared a wonderful gluten-free breakfast for me. Every morning I got fresh, homemade gluten-free crêpes and could not have been happier. The location is a dream. You are within 25 minutes of Verona and if you drive ten minutes into the valley you will find many small lovely villages. Regarding gluten-free: ten minutes from this great agriturismo there is a small gluten-free supermarket (La Biobottega senza glutine). If you stay with Caterina and are hunting for special gluten-free products, that stop is worth it. Thank you, Caterina and Marcello, for making our holiday extraordinary.
