There is a way of knowing a place that cannot be learned from travel books: it belongs to those who grew up there, who have carried it within them always. This is where Incanto del Trasimeno was born — from a deep bond with Castiglione del Lago, its medieval walls, and a lake that changes colour with every season.
The apartment occupies the second floor of a period building in the heart of the historic centre, in the Porta Fiorentina area: bright and spacious rooms, terracotta floors, windows looking out over the village and the panorama of the lake.
The living area is warm and welcoming, the kitchen fully equipped — with everything you need to feel at home, not in a hotel room. The three bedrooms offer different configurations and different views: towards the lake, towards Porta Fiorentina, towards the historic centre. Two bathrooms, air conditioning throughout, independent heating. The apartment sleeps up to six people without the home ever feeling crowded.
The true heart of the house, however, is the private garden suspended above the medieval walls, from which Lake Trasimeno stretches as far as the eye can see: a secluded and silent space, perfect for breakfast outdoors, an afternoon of reading or an Umbrian sunset that is hard to forget.
All around, within walking distance: the castle, the lakeside promenade, restaurants, wine bars, the silent alleyways of the village. The lake offers ever-changing landscapes, the islands — Isola Maggiore and Isola Polvese — are reachable by boat, and nearby villages such as Panicale, Paciano and Città della Pieve still move at that slow pace that mass tourism has not yet touched.
Throughout the year the area comes alive with the “Festa del Tulipano” in spring and the “Luci sul Trasimeno” in winter, when the largest Christmas tree on water in the world transforms the lake into something magical.
Further afield, but not too far: Perugia, Assisi, Spoleto, Orvieto towards Umbria; Montepulciano, Pienza, Bagno Vignoni and the Val d’Orcia towards Tuscany. For those who love less visited places, Scarzuola, Civita di Bagnoregio and the fortress of San Leo hold surprises that are hard to forget.
We care for this house the way you care for the things you love: with attention, with dedication and with the genuine pleasure of sharing them. We are always available for advice, suggestions and any need that may arise — from the best restaurants to the lesser-known itineraries.
Our goal is a simple one: that everyone who arrives here feels, from the very first moment, at home.
