We had a wonderful two-night stay at this B&B! The location was perfect—within walking distance of almost all the major tourist attractions, which made exploring the city so easy and convenient. Our room was surprisingly spacious and very comfortable, making it a great place to relax after a day of sightseeing. Overall, it was a great place to stay and we would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

The price was fairly cheap for the location. The room was big and clean. However, the shower was cold the entire stay, the toilet had to be pumped multiple times to flush, and the room was incredibly hot because the AC stayed at 28°C and the fan hardly ever kicked on. There was almost no air flow and the windows were locked so you couldn't have airflow or a nice view. The wifi was also very slow. The kitchen area had a water jug, but once it was empty, there was a sign implying it was "broken" and they never replaced the water. The owner was barely responsive, and mainly waved off problems as normal.

Small apartment good for 1 person. Clean and with good location. Once you are checked in it would have been easier to get in with a key instead of the code every time. To me the price is a bit high for such a small place but it is in a semi central part of Florence so it is what it is. The host was very responsive and kind. Thank you.

I really liked staying at the property. The shower space in the bathroom was the only place I had an issue as it was too small even for an average sized person. You keep hitting your arms to the shower handle or the door. Otherwise the stay was very comfortable.

One of the best quality to price ratios I've ever experienced. Lovely room, very clean and well-equipped. Just meters away from all famous churches and museums in Florence. We recently stayed here and while the location was absolutely incredible—right in the heart of everything—it was hard to overlook some issues that impacted my stay. First, checking in was a hassle. The host was unresponsive to both calls and messages, which left me waiting and unsure when I could get access to the room. This was due to not having the fob necessary to get through the glass doors when doing the self service check in. Once inside, the space was cozy and clean, but unfortunately, the air conditioning was not functioning properly, which made the room uncomfortable, especially during the warmer hours of the day. While it was noisy being right next to the Duomo, we used ear plugs and had no problems with the noise. In summary, while the location was perfect and the hotel had potential, the lack of communication and AC issues were frustrating. If these problems get addressed, it could be an excellent place to stay.

The room was pretty, spacious and clean. Good water pressure in the shower and toiletries available. Walking distance to the train station and all the major landmarks, and surrounded by shopping and restaurant areas that made it easy to get anything we needed. While it is located on a busy, noisy street, the windows and blinds provided a good sound isolation and we were able to get a good night's rest throughout our stay. The common area was nice and comfortable as well. \nOn the downside, the coffee capsules were never refilled once we have used up our stock of 4 capsules (for a 6 nights' stay) and we even had to clean the coffee maker ourselves as it was full of old capsules, gooey old coffee and to the brim of discarded water, which prevented the proper functioning of the machine. The plates, cutlery and most of the kitchenware had to be washed prior to its use because previous users were not as thorough with the cleaning and the staff didn't review if they were in a proper state. \nDespite this, I would still recommend this stay due to its convenient location and affordable prices.

Allow me to highlight both the positive aspects and areas for improvement based on my experience, as well as how the property owner/manager handled any issues. Pros: Prime Location: Situated at the heart of Florence, just steps away from the cathedral, the location couldn't be better. Spacious Room and Bathroom: The room is generously sized, and the bathroom is notably large. Impeccable Cleanliness and Service: The entire property was spotless, and the service provided was exceptional. Attentive Manager: The manager was incredibly attentive and promptly addressed any requests or concerns I had. Easy Check-in and Check-out Process: The check-in and check-out procedures were hassle-free, requiring only a quick video briefing. Manageable Elevator and Accessibility: Despite being in a historic building, the elevator was adequate, especially compared to other B&Bs. Additionally, being on the first floor made access manageable. Cons: AC Issues: Unfortunately, the AC in my room wasn't functioning properly, despite efforts to resolve the issue. However, the property manager compensated me fairly for the discomfort experienced and provided a tower fan, which greatly improved the situation. Slow Internet Speed: While this may not be entirely within the property's control, the internet speed was notably slow. Guests should be aware of this potential inconvenience and plan accordingly, perhaps relying on personal phone data or pre-planning activities that require a stable internet connection. Overall, while there were minor drawbacks, the positives of this B&B far outweighed any negatives, thanks in large part to the attentive management and excellent location.

I had such a great stay here. I was in Florence picking up my daughter from study abroad (her apartment was less than a block away). The location of this room was outstanding! Right around the corner from the Duomo cathedral and wonderful cafes. The room was modern and clean. It can get a little loud at night with the restaurant/bar that is behind the property and be prepared for early morning wake up by the cathedral bells. This property was perfect for seeing the sites of Florence or for shopping as it is right in the heart of Florence. Almost next door to Il Duomo. The room was fair for the price, it wasn't luxurious, but it was very clean and comfortable, and given it's location it was very fair. So good things: 1. less than 20 mins walk from everywhere in Florence that you want to see. 2. Good value comfortable room 3. Very clean 4. reception staff helpful 5. Being so central you can pop back to the room during the day if you need the loo! There are only two points I could pick on if I was being unkind: 1. The bells of il Duomo wake you up in the morning at around 7, but that's because you are SO near the Duomo, so not really a problem and a nice way to wake up. 2. The breakfast in the room is boxes of cereal and some pre packed toast, the main breakfast or croissants and rolls (very tasty by the way) arrive at 9, if you're an early riser then that's a little late, as we were out by 8. 30 most days this didn't work for us, though we did go back later for breakfast and it was still available at 10.

The only advantage is the location, otherwise there is zero service. We had difficulties accessing the place and no one answered the phone. Then we slept in a room heated to 23 degrees without being able to ask someone to lower or turn off the radiator. We opened the window to cool the room and we had mosquitoes! We had to wait until the next morning to be able to ask the employee who was cleaning to turn off the radiator. We had no television and no internet connection on our phone. I discovered by chance that the wifi code was in the reception office when leaving the keys before leaving. This office was empty upon our arrival and empty upon our departure, however this person had no qualms about entering our room in our absence to leave a note asking to pay the tourist tax in cash (to avoid declaring it to the tax authorities). When leaving, you can leave your belongings in the common areas hoping that no one will steal them... and I am not even talking about the soundproofing of the rooms, you can hear everything!

The location is perfect. The fact that you can arrive independently is a plus and the information was very well detailed. For the room, we slept very well. However, there are a few "repairs to be made": burnt-out bulb in the bathroom, very few electrical outlets (near the bed), the window handles are ultra fragile (if not broken) which does not encourage opening the shutters for fear of not being able to close them again.

The accommodation is located in a very central location. The room was very clean. Although there is no reception, the staff is always available by phone. Arriving by car was a bit inconvenient as there are no parking spaces available and there is no option to just unload the luggage. Overall highly recommended, very nice and central accommodation!

The only thing to improve is the communication with the hostess, as it was complicated and she takes a long time to respond. Unfortunately, the experience was bad. Not only did we not have availability with the air conditioning (with 40 degrees of heat in Florence), but also upon request, the manager could not even get us an extra fan. They only left us a very small mini fan that clearly did not meet our needs. Furthermore, the manager's distant and unsympathetic attitude, who did not correctly assess the situation, even getting annoyed. Also, communication with him was very difficult, not answering calls or messages promptly (having to wait hours for a response). I would not return or recommend especially because of the treatment received from the manager.

The structure has a central and enviable location. The quality/price ratio is extraordinary. We found a clean, warm room, with functioning wi-fi without problems, very convenient just a few meters from the Duomo, really an excellent structure. We had a small problem the first evening and Alessandro responded immediately and worked hard to resolve it the next day. Fortunately, the problem then resolved itself, so we had no unpleasant consequences. No issues with the access codes and online check-in, I must say it is an excellent solution since everything works perfectly. Surely, if we return to Florence, we will book again at "Il Salotto di Firenze"!

A property with a strategically excellent location (from number 6 in Via Roma, you literally take one step and you are in Piazza Duomo, with a magnificent view of the Cathedral and the Baptistery). The rooms of the property are on the first floor and can also be reached by elevator, they are also very spacious and have high ceilings (it is a nineteenth-century building). The only drawback: the fact that the air conditioning in the room is high and it is not possible to lower the temperature.

I am writing this review during my last day of stay. Probably one of the best accommodations in Florence. Unique location, practically turning a corner (5 mt) you have in front of you the magnificent cathedral of Florence, all the other attractions are really at most 15 minutes walk away, so you don't even need public transport. Magnificent room, very spacious, well-kept in every detail, very clean and with a really comfortable bed. Self check-in very simple and convenient. I had the opportunity to chat with one of the partners and he proved to be a very kind and helpful person. Possibility to leave luggage pre check-in and post check-out, very convenient for those who still have some time available when arriving/leaving. Incredible price, given the area and the beauty and convenience of the room it's hard to find better. Absolutely recommended.

Having overcome the hurdle of the entrance, with a large door and a steep staircase to reach the first floor, everything went smoothly. Indeed, there is an elevator but, with two suitcases, you can't get in because it is very small and old. Furthermore, the entrance door is a bit difficult to open. The owner was not present, but always promptly responded to messages and calls. The room is simple, but the bathroom is nice. However, the wifi is rather weak and needs improvement. The location is spectacular, you can't get more central than this.

I spent 2 nights in this beautiful historic palace on Via Roma, in the heart of Florence. I love to travel and had long wanted to visit Florence. In my choice of accommodation, I looked at the scores on Booking. I confirm, Il Salotto di Firenze is an excellent structure! I had a great time from every point of view: welcome, cleanliness, tranquility, comfort (bed, bathroom), and above all excellent organization, friendliness, and availability of the managers. Having the Duomo and the Baptistery around the corner was unforgettable. Piazza della Signoria and the Uffizi Gallery are a 10-minute walk away. All the tourist attractions are close by and (last but not least) the structure is easily reachable on foot from Santa Maria Novella station. Thank you very much, Alessandro, for your hospitality. I will definitely come back to you!

I couldn't not recommend the property, excellent location, practically in Piazza del Duomo just a step away from all the points to see in the center of Florence. Professional and very kind management, excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

Great location, practically in Piazza San Giovanni/Duomo Santa Maria del Fiore. Obviously impossible to arrive by car but easily solvable problem through paid garages or, if willing to leave it on the street, in the surrounding streets. Top organization both for check-in and check-out: The host, we met Alessandro, is not always present on site but available by phone every hour. The room, we stayed in one overlooking Via Roma, clean, with perfectly functioning air conditioning and, very essential, comfortable bed and impeccable linen. The bathroom is essential but new. In a few words WE WILL COME BACK.

Apart from some minor and subjective improvements, a couple in the kitchen and a couple in the bathroom, it is incredible how adorable this place has been. I still can't believe I was so at the center of the center, in addition to having had a very comfortable and pretty room, a fantastic kitchen available, very kind hoteliers and a price in line or lower than dozens and dozens of decidedly less delicious places. I would definitely like to come back here with my special person, with a friend or even alone again. A place of the heart.

It's a dump. We waited 10 minutes outside the entrance door in the cold. The manager doesn't show up with good manners and "orders" us to follow him as if we were his recruits. And we didn't even shake hands introducing ourselves with our names, "Incredible". The tourist tax is like a 4-star one, 4€. Room, stinks, dirty, old furniture like the cuckoo (and doesn't reflect what's in the pictures). Old bed. He took my money before seeing the room, he ripped me off 84€. Guys don't go!

Le rispondo cercando di ripristinare la verità e rimettere in ordine ed equilibrio su come sono andate le cose. Micheal, il mio collega Addetto alla Reception si è occupato della Sua prenotazione ed accoglienza. Ci ha chiamato il 07/02 per arrivare il giorno dopo e soggiornare 1 notte nella camera matrimoniale con vista su Via Roma con balcone. Ci ha lasciato la Sua Carta di Credito a garanzia ed ha ricevuto la Conferma di Prenotazione n.129667136 via e-mail. In tale conferma e nel testo dell'e-mail si ricorda il Nostro orario di apertura di Reception. Il Nostro orario è dalle 9 alle 14 tutti i giorni, Festivi inclusi. Lei e la Sua partner vi siete presentati alle ore 8. Poiché non avete ricevuto risposta quando avete suonato il campanello avete contattato uno dei due numeri disponibili sulla Nostra targa/campanello per l'assistenza in caso di Reception già chiusa senza visionare la targhetta che ricorda l'orario: 9-14 appunto. Micheal Le ha risposto e nonostante fosse ancora fuori servizio si è presentato 10 minuti dopo la Sua chiamata per assistervi. (Le riconosco che i tempi da Lei citati in questo caso sono corretti). Inoltre, il giorno della Sua prenotazione Micheal la chiama per telefono chiedendole quando sareste arrivati. Gli risponde "in mattinata" ed essendo a conoscenza dell'orario 9-14, il mio collega si aspettava legittimamente che sareste arrivati tra le 9 e le 14. Appena arrivato, Micheal vi ha mostrato la camera che non è stata di Vostro gradimento, sopratutto alla Sua compagna, richiedendo un'altra stanza superiore a quella. Le è stato fatto presente che quella era la più bella poiché con il balcone. Nessun'altra ne ha uno a disposizione. A quel punto decide di cercare un'altra stanza e Lei esce dalla struttura per cercarne un'altra in un altro hotel/B&B. Le viene fatto presente che la stanza dovrà essere comunque pagata anche se non ci soggiorna perché equivale ad una mancata presentazione (NO-SHOW). Micheal procede alla riscossione del dovuto appena torna comunicando che decidete di non soggiornare presso di Noi. Non le è stato fregato niente, sono stati riscossi soldi che ci spettavano secondo i Termini e Condizioni da Lei accettati. In più, a proposito della Tassa di Soggiorno: faccio presente che non applichiamo una somma a Nostra preferenza agli Ospiti. La Tassa di Soggiorno è imposta dal Comune di Firenze: €4/a notte a persona. Se non è d'accordo sull'ammontare, deve fare reclamo all'Amministrazione Comunale da cui troverà anche il Nostro Reclamo assieme a quello di altri colleghi. Ma noi non possiamo non riscuoterla. Ed anche di questo era al corrente prima di venire. Inoltre, Micheal aveva erroneamente riscosso anche la Tassa di Soggiorno da Voi via Carta di Credito e Vi ha restituito i soldi (€8) in contanti. Concludo, ricordandoLe che quando decide di scrivere una recensione positiva o negativa come in questo caso, se si è persone per bene, si dovrebbe mantenere oggettività, trasparenza ed "occhio critico". Queste qualità mancano nel Suo commento perché ad esempio non avendo neanche dormito indica il letto come vecchio.oppure l'attesa fuori dal portone perché la Reception è ancora legittimamente chiusa. e si spende in attacchi al limite del personale. Tutti hanno diritto di dire quello che vogliono ma poiché Noi ci lavoriamo con le segnalazioni degli Ospiti per migliorare il servizio ed essere sempre più efficienti non ci stiamo ad essere protagonisti di una storia inventata. The location is the strength of 'Il Salotto di Firenze' and the staff is courteous and helpful. I cannot evaluate the breakfast; being in Florence for the Marathon, we had breakfast much earlier than the scheduled time with what we had brought with us. The room we had overlooks Piazza S. Giovanni directly and noise at night was not lacking; if we had known earlier, we would have requested inner rooms. Overall, however, the experience was very positive.

Great location right in the center, great price, the breakfast is not the best but I have encountered worse in hotels with much higher prices, after all if you spend a little you can't expect much, the view from the single room where I stayed is not nice, but if I go to Florence I don't go to stay in my room.\n\nI believe it couldn't have gone better, clean structure right in the center, private bathroom and courteous staff.\n\nI recommend it.

Positive sides: magnificently central position, well-kept and practical bathroom, availability of coffee, herbal teas, fridge, tables throughout the day, free availability of mineral water, comfortable double bed, breakfast at 9 in the morning also with abundant sandwiches. Negative sides: the air conditioning system did not work at all (confirmed by the manager, it had broken down) and it was hot, the instructions given for use (keys, safe) were not clear (three people listening to them), the third additional bed small, hard and spartan, breakfast given from 9 in the morning (very late, in fact we were forced to have it outside) and, overall, with absolutely unattractive prepackaged foods (those in the room).

Excellent location to visit Florence, in a few minutes you can reach all the main monuments and museums. The structure is fantastic, it is welcoming and very clean as well as equipped with all the necessary comforts and services for the stay. The availability and kindness of the staff is unquestionable. Highly recommended.

I stayed here with my family and we only stayed for one day, but I have to say that the staff was very kind, the place is practically in the center, well cleaned and very nice. We arrived in the evening and there was no reception, so we did a kind of self check-in, which was different and fun. We will definitely come back. Everything was fantastic.
