We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Affittacamere Il Cactus. Mario and Carla were kind, generous, and made us feel very welcome. Mario's communication was excellent both before and during our visit. He was quick to answer any questions, and he and Carla made great efforts to make our stay comfortable. Mario also recommended a good place to get breakfast and coffee nearby. We appreciated being able to borrow bicycles to tour Lucca, and Mario was kind enough to let us use them even after check-out. The historic city centre is a quick, easy walk or bike ride from the Affittacamere Il Cactus. We also enjoyed a wine in the garden (although mosquito repellant is recommended). The room and bathroom were a good size, and access was easy. I agree with the other reviews that sound insulation isn't amazing (at least between the front room and the house), but Mario and Carla are not noisy people, so it's a minor thing. The street wasn't very noisy. Mario's use of a translating device made it easy for all of us to communicate. We would gladly stay at the Affittacamere Il Cactus again. Maybe next time we can give ourselves more time to use the hammock, complete with its own electric fan!

This affordable guesthouse is conveniently close to the city centre. It wasn’t 100% soundproof to traffic and noises from the main house but the host was pleasant, the facilities were clean and we enjoyed our stay.

Nice style house, special because the cactus history. Very friendly people. Very clean overall and also good sanitary. There was no breakfast but the excellent tip to do this in Lucca and we like this very much because we had and real Italian style breakfast, The price from that was very reasonable. What also special was that the surrounding was so quiet in the night. My wife is normally a bad sleeper because of all sounds around our own house in the Netherlands but slept here very good! On the other corner of the street was the very good pizza restaurant with quality pizza's from a wood stoken oven, MMMMMMM… eat 3 times there… So when you are with two persons and want to go to Lucca and you want also try this Lucca breakfast in the town you can for sure go for it. Have a nice stay there!

Lovely room with doors onto garden, with table and cahirs provided. No a/c but good fan. Spotless bathroom, good shower. Comfy bed, nice pillows. Ten minute walk into city. Three minute walk to pasticceria Scilla for breakfast, also shops for fruit etc. Host delightful; collected us from the bus station and offered to drop us to the train station but we wanted to walk around the city walls (20 mins stroll).

Everything was perfect. Beautiful large room, very clean. Excellent bedding. Pleasant garden. It is located in an area close to the historic center and also very close to grocery stores. The owner came to pick me up at the station and then took me back when I left. There are bicycles available for customers for free. Everything is done to make the stay a pure moment of happiness. I was very touched by the kindness of the owners. They are admirable people. I want to thank them warmly.

We stayed for three nights in Lucca with Mario and Carla and we really enjoyed it. The location is great. You can quickly reach the old town and it's also close to the river, where we rode along with the bikes borrowed from Mario and Carla. We felt very comfortable there, and Mario and Carla are very warm people. Even though we don't speak Italian, communication went well. Thank you!

The room where I stayed is spacious and very clean, with everything needed for a pleasant stay (including a mini fridge with water and tea greatly appreciated). Large bathroom with shower and brand new sanitary ware. Great location, with ample parking possibilities, a few minutes' walk from the walls of Lucca. Excellent value for money! Very kind and helpful owners, to the point that you feel right at home. Beautiful and well-kept little garden, with a table and chairs, definitely to be enjoyed in good weather. Absolutely recommended for visiting the beautiful Lucca!

The apartment is just outside the walls, in a very convenient location. It is a quiet area composed of small villas and small buildings, really very pleasant. The choice of independent entrance, from the garden, for each of the two rooms is really beautiful. The rooms are recently built, with the spaces optimally utilized. The bathroom is spacious, with a very generous-sized shower, a real pleasure at the end of the day. The furniture is simple and clean, creating a very welcoming and pleasant atmosphere. The garden, for common use of the two rooms, is very nice, well equipped and carefully maintained with great attention. The homeowners are two splendid people, available, very polite and extremely kind, but not at all intrusive. They made us feel at home, both to us and to our little dog, to whom they gave many cuddles. What can I say, this place will become a fixed reference point for us in this area.

Stayed for only one night, unfortunately. We would have gladly stayed for a few more days because Lucca is really worth it. We had a great time at Mr. Mario's property. It's just a few minutes' walk from the center, in a very quiet area. Cleanliness, comfort, and top-notch hospitality. We will definitely come back and I will also recommend it to my friends. Spacious, clean room, even the outdoor space is well-kept. Easy to find, with a short walk you are already in the center. With my wife, we stayed two nights at Affittacamere Il Cactus. We had a great time, excellent cleanliness, bathroom in the room with a large shower, very close to the beautiful city walls, exceptional courtesy and kindness of the owners. I highly recommend it.

The owners of the B&B were very sweet, kind, and helpful. The room was impeccably clean, the bedroom is very nice, and the bathroom is quite large. The B&B is not in the city center, but it is easily reachable on foot or by bike.

Extremely kind and helpful owner. Very clean rooms, equipped with every necessary and useful service. Excellent heating: luckily because we stayed on cold days! Free parking very close. To reach the historic center of Lucca: a very short 'healthy' walk. Quiet and peaceful place.

Stayed for only one night unfortunately, because Lucca deserves it and an extra day would have been perfect. Room with independent entrance, with everything necessary, clean and tidy, spacious bathroom. It was very cold those days, but the room is well insulated and very comfortable. Carla and Mario are two very kind and helpful people. The guesthouse is located 10 m on foot from Porta San Donato, it takes two bike pedals. I definitely recommend it!

Comfortable accommodation in the center but outside the walls, free parking in front of the Affittacamere Il Cactus. The owners are very kind and super helpful, the bicycles are perfect for cycling on the city walls and inside. Highly recommended, absolutely!

Ingresso direttamente in camera e poi c'è il bagno essenziale senza fronzoli. Rapporto qualità/prezzo ottimo (avendo visto altri prezzi) la zona per me era ottima, 800 mt da dove avevo un corso e comunque molto vicino a porta San Donato tanto che sono andato in città a piedi. Tornando all'affittacamere, molto bello il bagno spazioso e con la doccia più grande di casa mia, in camera c'è tutto, armadio, comodini e vari cassetti (che io per due notti non ho usato). Il materasso più morbido di quello a cui sono abituato e cuscini bassi ma ognuno ha i suoi gusti. Adiacente (c'è una porta chiusa) all'appartamento dei proprietari quindi eviterei se fossi uno che fa casino ad ore tarde Persone gentilissime e sempre disponibili, wifi televisione e tutto quello che serve in una camera. Infatti o riprenotato la camera per il prossimo corso!

Struttura pulita comoda e accogliente, a due passi dalle mura storiche, raggiungibili comodamente con le bici messe a disposizione dai proprietari, che sono gentilissimi e sempre disponibili. Quando tornerò a Lucca cercherò sicuramente di tornare al Cactus. Lo consiglio.

Io e una mia amica abbiamo soggiornato presso questa struttura per 2 giorni e ci siamo trovate molto bene, il rapporto qualità-prezzo è ottimo e i gestori gentilissimi e sempre disponibili per qualsiasi cosa. Ci sono state fornite anche due biciclette per girare la città in comodità, le cui mura distano 5 minuti dalla struttura. Abbiamo trovato la stanza pulita e ordinata così come il bagno. Lo consiglierò sicuramente!

Abbiamo soggiornato per tre notti in questa villetta situata in una zona tranquilla di Lucca, a poche centinaia di metri da Porta San Donato, uno dei punti di accesso al centro storico della città. Spaziosa e comoda la stanza, con un'entrata indipendente che dava su un bel giardino assolato; il bagno era ampio e ben tenuto. Molto accurata la pulizia degli ambienti. Il punto di forza, però, sono i due padroni di casa, Carla e Mario, gentilissimi e molto disponibili (mio marito aveva un problema al polpaccio e loro ci hanno aiutato e rifornito di ghiaccio a tutte le ore. Grazie di cuore!) Come scritto da altri utenti, la struttura non offre la prima colazione, ma nei dintorni ci sono ottime caffetterie da provare. Lo consigliamo. Giovanni e Anna. P. S. Siamo stati al Cactus due notti per visitare Lucca. Casetta nel quartiere subito fuori dalle mura, a cinque minuti da porta S. Anna. Posticino senza pretese ma molto carino, pulitissimo, con piccolo giardinetto su cui si affacciano le due camere e i proprietari super carini e disponibili. Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo, consigliato!

Proprietari gentilissimi e disponibili. Camera ordinata e pulita. I proprietari mettono a disposizione gratuitamente delle biciclette che sono ideali per girare il centro di Lucca ed il circondario. La struttura è a due passi dalle mura ed i proprietari forniscono la cartina della centro ed ogni indicazione utile su ristoranti, luoghi e monumenti da visitare ecc. Consigliatissimo.

Stanze pulite e proprietari cortesi e disponibilissimi sono il biglietto da visita di questo B&B a due passi dalla cinta muraria di Lucca, raggiungibili comodamente a piedi oppure con le biciclette gentilmente fornite dai proprietari. Con chiavi in mano potevamo accedere direttamente alla nostra camera passando per il giardinetto che offriva anche amaca, tavolo e sedie riparati da un grande ombrellone, il tutto in piena autonomia potendo parcheggiare comodamente in strada affianco all'ingresso. Non viene fornita colazione ma a pochi passi si trova un'ottima pasticceria a buon prezzo. Sicuramente consigliabile. Giovanni e Lara.

Una casetta carina a pochi passi dalle mura di Lucca; la camera era davvero molto accogliente, pulita e ordinata; Mario e sua moglie sono stai gentilissimi e sempre disponibili per ogni cosa. Nonostante siamo rimasti solo una notte ci siamo trovati benissimo, sicuramente torneremo volentieri!

Confermo quanto scritto in altre recensioni: camera e bagno ampi e pulitissimi, accesso autonomo e diretto dal giardino, posizione strategica per la visita alla città (5 minuti a piedi dalle mura). Gestori splendidi: gentili ed accoglienti, ti fanno sentire subito a casa. Bici a disposizione per tutta la durata del soggiorno. Depliant e informazioni turistiche già pronte per voi in camera. Ottimi cornetti e cappuccino della pasticceria vicina: con 6 euro abbiamo fatto colazione in tre. Ci siamo trovati molto meglio qui che nell'hotel 4 stelle di Pisa dove eravamo stati in precedenza. Se tornerò a Lucca sarà la mia prima scelta. Come se tutto ciò non bastasse i gestori mi hanno anche regalato una bottiglia di vino alla partenza: cosa desiderare di più?

L'unica pecca è stata un materasso scomodo ma la struttura è comoda per poter andare in visita alla città, gestori cordiali e disponibili e camera pulita e ordinata.

Io e mia moglie abbiamo soggiornato per una sola notte, siamo stati accolti bene, i proprietari sono molto gentili, ci hanno fornito le loro bici per girare la città. Ci ritorneremo, in quanto Lucca è la città del nostro matrimonio, e la posizione del B&B è favorevolissima. Grazie.
