Our stay at Borgo Alba Barone Turismo Rurale was very comfortable. The location is very good: close to Olbia and to some of the nicest beaches in Baja Sardinia. With separate units and fewer guests than hotels, it offers much better quality when it comes to quiet hours. The accommodation had standard amenities in Sardinian style, which we liked a lot. Breakfast was good for a short stay and freshly made. A few recommendations: add nets to the doors as well, otherwise you might have a lizard visit, as happened to us. We have a country house and the doors also have screen protection; we kept the doors closed at all times, but the lizard was in the room on our arrival, so we mention it. The shower should be enlarged as it is very small compared to the size of the bathroom. We understand that standards have changed, but it is difficult to even pick up anything if you drop it on the floor if you are as tall as my sister and I are. The fridge could have better cooling capacity, as at the moment it takes a long time to cool drinks. We used the fridge only for cooling water and soda. We have stayed in other accommodations that had a minibar that cooled drinks in half a day. Breakfast would benefit from more Sardinian products. We understand that all breakfast ingredients are produced in Sardinia, but we missed, for example, pecorino cheese and jams made from local fruits such as myrtle. These are just side notes; I am sure other guests would appreciate them as well. All suggestions are well intended and meant to help further improve your great accommodation. We look forward to coming back in the coming years.

The answer from the host:
Dear Jelena,
thank you for your review and for choosing Borgo Alba Barona.
We would like to clarify a few points:
• Mosquito screens are installed on all windows; for safety reasons, they cannot be applied to entrance doors, otherwise it would not be possible to enter or exit.
• The refrigerator available to guests is a hotel-type minibar, which works properly as long as it is not filled as a domestic fridge would be. These minibars operate through thermal accumulation: they take longer to cool, but they are much quieter and are designed to maintain cold rather than to chill quickly.
• The entrance door of the room should always be kept closed: being in the countryside, it may happen that a lizard enters, as it did in your case. However, the rooms have several windows, wide outdoor spaces and air conditioning, ensuring comfort and air circulation without the need to keep the door open.
• For the benefit of future guests, we would like to point out the size of our showers: in your room they measured 90x90 cm, which are considered standard dimensions and suitable even for guests who are tall or have a robust build.
• As for breakfast, all products are entirely Sardinian, carefully selected to highlight local excellence. Every morning we serve two types of Sardinian pecorino cheese, one fresh and mild, the other more aged, together with a local fig jam. For jams, we prefer to offer single-portion servings, in compliance with food safety standards, selecting a variety of quality flavors. Myrtle jam, on the other hand, is not typically part of a Sardinian breakfast, nor is it commonly used: it has a very particular taste that not everyone may appreciate, and it is also not available in single-portion format.
We appreciate your suggestions, which can be helpful both for us and for other guests, but we would also like to point out that some observations may be subjective and reflect personal preferences. In any case, any request or suggestion made directly during the stay allows us to respond immediately and ensure the best possible experience.
We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to welcoming you again.
Kind regards,
Borgo Alba Barona Team
