The location makes our facility ideal for shopping in our local Christmas market, perfect for transfers to the nearby railway station 'Stazione Stresa', easy to reach from the nearby motorway 'Autostrada A26'.

Our breakfast offers hot drinks, fruit juices (red orange and ACE taste) the sweet part includes the classic Italian croissants, cake, biscuits, rusks, bread, nutella, jams, honey, butter and fresh fruits. Cereals, musley, muffins and wholemeal rusks. Yogurt natural and fruit taste. And Not sweety: offers ham, salami and cheese + delicious shortcrust salt pastry with mixed fillings.

It sounds like I am exaggerating about La Locanda but I truly am not. The staff were lovely, the room was immaculately cleaned every day. The town and lake side was only a few minutes walk away. With the benefit of on site secure parking. I am sure I will be back.

The La Locanda Hotel is a very welcoming and friendly place to stay, just outside the main town but a pleasant walk along the lake in 10 minutes to reach the main town. Clean, comfortable, and simple, perfect for a short break to enjoy Stresa.

A wonderful family-run hotel. Well-appointed and fantastically clean rooms with balconies and very comfortable beds. Helpful managers and staff. 15 to 20 minutes walk to the town center along the waterfront - we particularly enjoyed this walk after a meal in town, but some people might prefer to be closer to town. Close to the station and the Carciano ferry terminal and cable car station. Alibus from Malpensa airport stops nearby.

This is a well-run and managed bed and breakfast. It's a fair, but pleasant hike into the center of town to the ferries and restaurants. Very close to the train station and you can hear them run in the distance. Being away from town center means it's quiet and you stroll into town burns off the carbs from the delicious pasta and pizzas you'll be eating. Rooms and baths are small in the European style but fine if you plan to be active and not spend a lot of time in your room. Beds were made up and cleaning was done each day and little candies put on bedside table. Nice continental breakfast and a machine to make cafe, cappuccino, hot water for tea, yogurt, several juices on offer as well as cereal, brioches, rolls, cake and fresh fruit. A good value for the money in pricey Stresa.

Great stay at the LA LOCANDA hotel. Just a short walk from Lake Maggiore. Our room was equipped with air conditioning, a real plus because we were on the 2nd floor (under the roof). Abundant and good breakfast, but it may have lacked a bit of variety when staying for a week. Friendly staff.

A very nice hotel on a quiet little street just steps from the embarkation for boats and tours of Stresa (about 15 minutes on foot) with a strategic location and unbeatable value for money in the area with excellent cleanliness in the room and all spaces. Small parking lot to reserve in advance in order to park your vehicle within the hotel grounds, be careful because for very large vehicles, you will need to maneuver well, but there are places available on a parallel street just in case. Daniele and the cleaning ladies are very attentive every day, thank you and congratulations! The breakfast is simple and for all tastes, sweet and savory (photos on the identical site). Our stay was magical and we will return because among all these magnificent hotels from the outside, for us La Locanda will remain the most beautiful because it has a soul and family spirit... really happy especially with our little dog. Thank you very much to you, it is unforgettable and see you soon!

The La Locanda hotel offers good value for money for mid-budget travelers, in an environment where luxury hotels and palaces dominate. We chose a standard room on the top floor (courtyard building), simple and spacious. Stresa is between the lakeside road and the railway line, so you can hear cars and trains at night (sensitive people may be bothered). The hotel is in a nice quiet street, 10 minutes from the boats and 15 minutes from the city center. Daniele is really friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay during this Covid-19 period.

The welcome is excellent, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The hotel is close to the Port of Carciano and the departure point of the cable car to Mottarone (5 minutes). It takes less than 15 minutes on foot to reach the center of Stresa (about 1 km). This allows for a short digestive walk after dinner. The main improvement that could be made would be to equip the windows with mosquito nets, so that you can leave the windows open without letting insects in at night. In any case, we will happily return to La Locanda on our next visit to Stresa.

The room is quite large and has a small balcony. On foot, the city center where the other pier and the main restaurants are located is a bit far but I did it without any problems.

Considering the prices in Stresa, it is good value for money. It's a pity about the mosquitoes, although it's probably more the municipality's responsibility. Air conditioning would not have gone amiss given the heat this summer. The host was helpful and friendly.

Courteous and professional staff, they made us feel at home, kind they endeavored to make us enjoy our vacation to the fullest. While some restaurant managers and especially some ferry operators were rude and some really rude, the hotel staff was really kind. Good breakfast and excellent hotel location, practically very close to both the center and the ferry docks.

The staff is courteous and helpful. The place is located a short distance from the lake, the railway, the historic center, the pier, and the Borromean Islands, so in a strategic position. They offer a generous breakfast with fresh fruit every day, with the option of an international breakfast. Additionally, they have internal parking. The rooms are simple but well maintained and clean. The mattresses are comfortable. Any problems and malfunctions are promptly resolved.

Decent structure if passing through Stresa with no high expectations, the triple room was a bit small with the bare minimum, the rather old air conditioner was quite noisy and there was no minibar in the room, however, the girl who welcomed us was kind enough to allow us to use the kitchen fridge on the ground floor. Despite the availability of private parking being indicated during booking, we found out that it was paid and also full and unavailable on site, we were lucky to find parking nearby. Despite the not excellent value for money for what was offered, La Locanda still remains one of the most affordable solutions if you want to visit Stresa, the guys running it are kind and helpful.

La Locanda, with an excellent host Daniele, is a very charming and well-located property in Stresa. The hotel, with its own parking lot, is a short walk to the ferry stop to go to the Borromeo Islands, as well as a short walk to the restaurant area and the train station.

Quiet location, structure close to the lakeside and a stone's throw from the historic center. Extremely clean rooms and bathroom. Very kind and helpful staff. Convenient on-site parking. Italian breakfast, excellent. Excellent value for money.

We stayed with 3 couples of friends, the hotel is very comfortable and quiet, the staff is friendly and welcoming. Strategic location for boarding to the Borromean Islands and for the historic center full of shops and small restaurants. Free guarded parking, excellent breakfast.

We visited Lake Maggiore by motorcycle and stayed two nights in Stresa. In this hotel, we found ourselves well in all aspects. About 10/15 minutes walk from the center and close to the pier for the Borromean Islands. Good reception, simple but spacious and clean room. We also liked the breakfast. Internal parking 5 euros per day for cars and 3 euros for motorcycles.

3 days of absolute relaxation, surrounded by nature and silence, flowers and plants. Very close to the ferry dock and the lakeside, with a nice walk you can reach the city center. The structure is comfortable, clean, welcoming, small enough to have a family dimension. Spectacular breakfast. I recommend it to everyone.

We recommend staying at this quiet hotel, with clean and cozy rooms. The staff is very kind and helpful, the breakfast is very good and plentiful. In 5 minutes on foot you reach the little square from which boats to the Borromean islands and the cable car to Mottarone depart. Thanks again to Daniele for the pleasant stay!

The hotel has slightly dated furnishings but livable and clean spaces. It is located in a quiet area of Stresa near the docks for the islands, the cable car to Mottarone, and the train station, and has internal paid parking. The breakfast is reasonably varied in terms of sweet items but lacks savory foods (cold cuts, eggs, cheeses). The managers are very kind and helpful. Nearby there is a supermarket and a restaurant. I would definitely come back.

Nice property in a quiet area a short walk from the center and from the Lido boarding for the islands and for Mottarone. Quiet room, essential furnishings, bathroom with bidet and shower. Self-service breakfast, too bad it was all sweet and no salty. But it doesn't matter, everything was fine. Excellent value for money.

Friendly and welcoming staff. Good location and the city center is reachable in ten minutes on foot. Being slightly set back from the road, it is quite peaceful. There is also the possibility of parking for cars. Nearby, there is the departure point for boats to the islands and the cable car.

We stayed 3 days at this B&B. Strategic location for both the mountains and the islands, very close to the lakeshore and 5 minutes from the center. 10 minutes from Villa Pallavicino. Friendly managers, we enjoyed the breakfast, nothing is missing (only sweet). However, I must compliment the cleanliness, one of the few times even though it's a 2-star everything was clean! Sheets, towels, bathroom. Really compliments! It was a nice discovery!

Our review of La Locanda cannot be anything but positive. The location is good, within walking distance you can reach the center, the boats to the islands, the cable car, the train station. The staff is more than courteous and the breakfast is abundant and excellent. Rating: 10+.

I stayed with my family at La Locanda from the 8th to the 13th of August 2016. We had a good time, in a few minutes' walk you can reach the center of Stresa and the boarding area for the islands, walking along the most beautiful lakeside. Convenient on-site parking at a very affordable cost. The only downside is the proximity of the railway, but on the other hand, you can reach the train station on foot in a few minutes (convenient for reaching Domodossola and doing the tour of Valle Vigezzo, which I recommend). In conclusion, excellent value for money.

The Inn is a nice place, where calm dominates, and convenient for moving around on foot, by car or motorbike and due to its proximity to the lake, the station, and the Carciano pier (on the Stresa shore). The Carciano pier is, in my opinion, more convenient for getting around the lake because there you can find: the public navigation service, the motorboat drivers, and the cableway to Montarone. The staff of the establishment is ok and for being a two-star it's really not bad.

Avete lasciato la camera in uno stato pietoso. Il personale freddo e distaccato è semplicemente perché avevamo capito con chi avevamo a che fare! La nostra struttura è ristrutturata e imbiancata ad ogni stagione. Per la questione pulizia lascio la parola ad altre recensioni più veritiere della sua. We stayed at 'La Locanda' the first weekend of October in an economy double room. We had a great time. Despite being on the ground floor and it had rained during the day and all night, we didn't have any humidity problems because the radiators were already on. The location is excellent. We arrived from the train station in a 6-minute walk. The departure point for the islands is very close, and the center of Stresa is easily reachable by taking a walk along the lakeside. The managers were very helpful in providing all the information. The breakfast room is very nice. Family-like with visible wooden beams on the ceiling. The economy room overlooked the parking lot. If you prefer more tranquility, there are rooms with balconies on the upper floors.
