B&B Il Castagneto

Very nice place.

A very lovely renovated house, equipped with everything you need to relax on vacation. Our personal highlight was the warm Italian welcome from the family that made us feel at home from the very first minute. Mille grazie Manuela!

Il Castagneto is in a lovely position, in the hills surrounded by woods, yet easily accessible from the SP. It is not too far on foot from the village of Pasturo where one can find a pleasant bar - the Bar Sporting, a grocery, a pharmacy and a shop called Non Solo Pasta for those who wish to pick up some deli food, salads, baked pasta and desserts for picnics or to eat in at the b&b. The property itself is very attractive and we enjoyed having breakfast out in the garden and just chilling out on the deckchairs and sofas in the evening. The rooms are nicely furnished, the kitchen is very well equipped for those who wish to make their own meals, and everything works properly. We stayed in the Red Room, which is rather small, and I would recommend it to those who want to spend all day outdoors. However, adding the use of the kitchen to this bedroom will greatly add to the comfort, while noting that guests in the next room will need to pass through the kitchen. The host of this property is a friendly, easy-going person who treats clients as guests and ensures that they have a very nice stay. There are some pleasant walks that start from the B&B itself, and other walks that start from Pasturo, while a short drive away are the Barzio and Artavaggio cable cars. All in all, staying at Il Castagneto was a very good choice because the property itself is nice enough to spend the entire day there, while there are several things to do in the surrounding area.

This place is simply perfect. We had a fantastic weekend there, for a skiing and relaxation vacation. The apartment was beautiful, clean, cozy, quiet, and well-heated (even though it is located in the mountains) and the view was breathtaking. The apartment also has a private kitchen, bathroom and shower, as well as Wi-Fi included. The B&B Il Castagneto is managed by Emanuela, who is very kind and welcoming, always available and made us feel at home. I recently moved to Italy and my Italian is not very good, but Emanuela was still very nice, friendly and easy to talk to. She also prepared us a fantastic Italian breakfast. Since we didn't have a car, she was always there to help with her amazing smile and gave us a ride to the Piani di Bobbio ski resort (which is very close), and to other places in beautiful Pasturo. It's also possible to take nice walks in the nature of Pasturo or walk from the B&B to the Pizzeria, supermarket, and bar. We will definitely be back!

The Castagneto is the best bed and breakfast one could hope to find in the beautiful Valsassina Valley. Manuela is extremely kind, sociable, and lively. She made my stay unforgettable! As she said when she picked me up from the bus stop, The Castagneto is a paradise.

We had a very good stay. Everything was perfect. The owners were very pleasant. We will return.

Very beautiful structure with stunning view, not too isolated, stunning and very welcoming rooms, the mattress was very soft. Near the center, the owner very kind and helpful.

The place is very cozy, I would add enchanting, and very relaxing if you want to get away from the city chaos. The owner is extremely helpful. Just like in all B&Bs, you feel at home. I will definitely come back.

It's not really a bed and breakfast, but a couple of rooms in the main house, small yet comfortable. There is a lack of freedom space, it feels like being guests at the owners' house. Breakfast on request, it is good to specify precisely what you would like to eat, otherwise you are provided with what the average guests normally eat. Beautiful location.

I stayed at this B&B in July, I stayed with my 84-year-old father. It was planned for a week's stay, then we liked the quiet place on the mountain hills of Valsassina with a stunning, relaxing view, a coolness... that we decided, given the opportunity, to extend our stay. The owner Manuela, a kind, affable, down-to-earth woman, with whom a friendly relationship was established, even with the 90-year-old father, a super active man who takes care of the wonderful garden surrounding the entire B&B. We were in a studio with an internal kitchen, we didn't have breakfast, but I could see what Manuela prepares. Next time we will try, we plan to return as soon as possible as it is just over an hour from Milan province, easy to reach. Thanks to Manuela and family.

Beautiful, clean, and private place. Mrs. Emanuela is an excellent host, she immediately made us feel comfortable. Excellent outdoor breakfast. We only stayed one night, but it's a great reference point for a holiday in Valsassina.

Ideal for weekends immersed in the relaxation of nature. Ski slopes are reachable within a few minutes in winter, or trails and walks to do with the family and children. I recommend it!

I have been to Valsassina several times now and the B&B Il Castagneto has become my point of reference. Emanuela's hospitality is unique: courteous, kind, caring without losing professionalism. Every time it's like coming back home. If that weren't enough, the beauty of the landscape and the serenity that emanate from the B&B's location are already reasons in themselves to prefer and choose it. Highly recommended.

Beautiful structure in a panoramic and convenient location for travels. We stayed in a studio apartment equipped with all comforts, warm welcome and extreme cordiality. Mrs. Manuela is a concentration of hospitality, determination, and friendliness, not to mention the daughter Silvia. Also, the super nice grandfather. Breakfast respects everyone's tastes and habits, served under the gazebo in the garden, and I assure you, starting the day pampered, served, and revered, with the wonderful panorama and the crisp air of the place, is truly a great vacation. Great location of B&B Il Castagneto, surrounded by greenery with a view of the valley. Suitable for a relaxing holiday or even just a weekend away from the city. Top hospitality of the managers. Strategic point to reach the local attractions.

My family and I stayed for 4 days and 3 nights. We had a great time even with the owner of the property. Obviously, you need a car to move around in the vicinity. Very peaceful environment, ideal for resting, but also convenient to reach the cable car to the Bobbio slopes, very well organized for winter sports like skiing and bobsledding. We also made friends with a kitten named Trilli that my daughter immediately fell in love with. We will definitely return.

We stayed at B&B Il Castagneto with 4 people for New Year's Eve and until Epiphany. The accommodation is comfortable because we had a mini apartment equipped with all comforts, customizable heating, kitchen use, etc. The structure is new and functional, the location is good compared to the slopes, you need a car to move around, although Mrs. Manuela is always very helpful in case of need. Breakfast is very customizable so you need to be detailed in your requests, I think it's to avoid waste and personally I find it very fair, so don't be shy in your requests (the apple pie is delicious, ask for it). One of the rooms is a bit small but still comfortable. Cleaning and changing of linen every 3 days always out of respect for the environment, I find it appreciable, it's a family environment and does not provide a standard hotel treatment, Manuela is a bit like the mother of everyone in the B&B and has accommodated us in any request, even extravagant, like moving the car from the parking lot because we were terrified of the (non-existent) ice. The discreet presence of two very affectionate kittens who really enjoy the crumbs left over from the breakfast cakes is a final gem. I recommend it even for long stays.

The owner is truly fantastic, friendly, cheerful, and meets all your requests, making you feel at home. The structure is wonderful with a fantastic panorama, it's warm inside and nothing is missing. I recommend going there to have a fantastic and relaxing time.

The structure is welcoming and is located in a charming, quiet and isolated place compared to the center of the village (which is small and quiet in any case). There are many walks you can do in the area and by taking the car you can reach several ski resorts. We liked it a lot.
