Villa Il Poggio

Small and charming villa in a great location,overlooking the mountains and the sea;it is well maintained. It has a nice little pool,good for children. We stayed 5 nights in the villa;two families occupied two different rooms,which were rather small with little storage space,as we were one family with one child and one family with two children. Also,the bathroom was nicely decorated but not very practical and there was no shelf in the bathroom to put shower gel/shampoo. Overall,it is a nice place from which you can explore the Ligurian coast,as it is well connected to the highway.

Villa Il Poggio is a beautifully remodelled villa, upstairs in the village of Alpicella near Varazze. Luca, the proud owner of this B&B, has created a beautiful place after 5 years of remodelling. By car it is about 12 minutes to Varazze, where you can go to the beaches of town. The garden is beautifully landscaped and from the spacious private parking space the villa is accessible via a beautiful path. From the villa you can enjoy a beautiful view of the surrounding area and between the mountains through the Mediterranean Sea on a beautiful large terrace. In the garden is a nice clean swimming pool with sun loungers and rocking chair. There are also several seating areas in the garden with a beautiful view. In the morning you wake up to the smell of fresh croissants that Luca prepares in the oven. The breakfast buffet, which is displayed in the beautiful kitchen, is very spacious and complete! All kinds of toppings, fruit, yoghurt, toast. Luca provides a delicious cup of coffee. In good weather of course outside on the terrace, inside is also a nice space. The rooms are clean, spacious with large beds. A neat spacious bathroom ensuite with shower, toilet, bidet and sink. We slept 7 nights in the Oriental room, with a view towards the sea. A very nice room! In the hallway there was a fridge for guests to store your things. Very nice to keep your things cool. The host Luca is very friendly and welcoming and ensures that you lack nothing. He is always reachable and has nice tips for the area, the beaches etc. In Alpicella there is a bakery, small shop, Trattoria ai Cacciatori and a bar within a 2 min walk. We had a wonderful time in the first week of September and will definitely be back in this beautiful place! Luca, grazie mille!

We spent two weeks there and had a very nice time in Alpicelle. The host was incredibly kind, helpful, gave us tips, we didn't miss anything. The rooms are very new and clean, and are cleaned at reasonable intervals. We had a great time and would gladly come back anytime if we travel to Liguria again. It is very idyllic and quiet, naturally a bit off the beaten path. We had a great time. Thank you Luca

It was wonderful.

The view of the Ligurian mountains and the valley with the sea in the background was fantastic! The Villa Il Poggio is furnished with great taste and attention to interior design. Those who are into active holidays are in the right place. Luca, the host, is very caring. Our children asked for toast and he immediately got it for the next morning. However, he doesn't speak a word of English, which sometimes made communication a bit difficult. Usually, though, everything can be sorted out with gestures and signs. I think Luca mostly receives Italian guests, so language is not a problem anymore.

The old Villa wonderfully restored by the owner 6 years ago - a cozy atmosphere. Beautiful garden. Bars and a good restaurant reachable in 5 minutes. Parking right in front of the house.

The accommodation is located on a hill overlooking the sea in the distance. It's a small Villa Il Poggio. The operator was very nice, the room clean. A refrigerator was in the hallway. There was a small swimming pool and a beautiful garden with pumpkins, lavender, rosemary, melons, and other products. The place is small but quiet. The view was very nice. The car can be parked for free on the property. We had breakfast on the terrace in front of the house.

Villa Il Poggio is a very nice and cozy hotel lovingly managed by Luca! The rooms were clean and everything was practically new! In our room, there was a bit of a lack of space for storing clothes and a wardrobe, but otherwise there is nothing to complain about the rooms! Breakfast was very good and tasty by Italian standards! Since the pool was quite small and our daughter was already a bit older, we didn't use it, but it also looked very well maintained and clean! The location is really great because you have a beautiful view of the sea. However, one must be aware that a lot of driving is required! Overall, it was a really fantastic holiday - we highly recommend the hotel.

It's a great B&B, great location if you don't want to stay right in the city hustle. About 15 minutes from Varazze by car and 19 minutes to Celle. The host is always available, very friendly. The house has a lot of charm and offers a beautiful view. The breakfast is great, the coffee excellent. There were even fruits from the own garden.

A beautiful place with a wonderful view.

We felt very comfortable during our vacation. The owner is attentive, knows the area well, and is very helpful. The house and the rooms have been renovated with care and love, with many fantastic details. Compliments. It is about a 10-minute drive from the beach. Parking is very scarce in Varazze but I believe there is a bus that passes. We recommend it. We would love to return. Thank you, Luca, and have a good summer season.

Luca is a great host, very helpful, kind, and also takes care of preparing breakfast, which is much appreciated. The house is well furnished and you can tell it was made with passion, immersed in the tranquility of greenery while still having a sea view. The outdoor spaces are excellent for enjoying some peace, even by the pool. The house has parking and if you don’t want to go to the beach with your own car, there is also the option to take the shuttle that takes you there. We would gladly return, highly recommended.

The house is well taken care of in every detail, just like the room. The only downside in my opinion is the inability to use the pool after 6 PM. Very kind and attentive host.

The bed and pillows are very comfortable, the place is quiet and very welcoming, as is Luca who is very helpful. In short, for those looking for silence and relaxation, I highly recommend it.

I stayed at the Villa Il Poggio last weekend with a group of friends and we all felt very good. The place is surrounded by greenery and makes everything very pleasant and relaxing. We had the chance to have breakfast in the garden and it was a moment of true pleasure as there is a spectacular view of the valley with a sea view. The rooms are well furnished and very clean. We personally had the smallest room which consequently had a slightly small bathroom but which was not a problem for us. Place not suitable for disabled people. The breakfast is varied and abundant. The host is kind and very available for any needs, noting that in our group there was a celiac person, he provided a gluten-free breakfast. It is a place we recommend and that we will certainly keep in mind if we return to that area.

We had a good time. The property is located in a quiet area with a view of the sea. The owner, discreet yet friendly, offered us an overly generous breakfast, enjoyed on a wonderful terrace, the highlight of the villa.

The view is simply spectacular. Architecture and furnishings are very well cared for in detail, the result of a skillful restoration that combines the passion for recovery with a fine aesthetic sense. A small jewel set among the Ligurian mountains. Ideal for spending a small vacation immersed in nature and away from the urban chaos. Like a postcard. The manager is very friendly, nice, and helpful. Excellent quality/price ratio.

Perfect. The Bed and Breakfast is located in Apicella, which is a fraction of Varazze, a quiet and relaxing mountain village (but lacks nothing, there is a shop, a bar and 2 restaurants). Very beautiful structure, tastefully furnished with a well-kept garden. Lovely room with a sea view (I stayed in the "oriental"). Spectacular breakfast. Luca, the manager, is very friendly and caring but not intrusive. The final touch, my daughter fell in love with the kitten Mia. I highly recommend it, we had a great time!

It is a beautiful bed and breakfast renovated, in a strategic location for excursions on Beigua, panoramic and quiet area. Not far from the sea, reachable by car in about twenty minutes. The room (nature) is suggestive, giving the impression of sleeping in a forest. The shower is very beautiful. Perfect cleanliness. Luca is kind and helpful, a good manager of an intimate and naturalistic reality. Excellent value for money.

My two friends and I had a really good time. Clean room, green surroundings 20 minutes from Varazze. The sweet and savory breakfast in the garden overlooking the sea was wonderful, and Luca, the owner, was very kind and helpful. I highly recommend it.

We stayed one more day than expected. A beautiful villa, rooms with bathrooms, simple and clean. Abundant breakfast. 7 km from the sea, but you can enjoy a spectacular panorama, nestled between green and blue. We will definitely come back. Absolutely recommended.

We stayed 3 nights in the double room called 'sea', spectacular view, impeccable cleanliness and excellent breakfast upon waking up. Free parking is convenient. We will come back if in the area again.

Villa Il Poggio is well cared for in all its aspects: the garden is beautiful with tables and sofas overlooking a spectacular view, the rooms are clean and themed (the oriental room where we stayed is beautiful and original). The host is friendly and kind, gave us advice on the trail to follow and was always available. You can see that he cares about his work and his customers. Highly recommended, we will return.

We had the pleasure of staying at this Villa Il Poggio for only one night (unfortunately, I would add) because our trip was aimed at a commitment. The booking was simple and quick, the owner always replied promptly to organize our arrival. He welcomed us by leaving us the keys and accompanying us to the room after giving us the time when we could have breakfast. We chose the 3 solution, comfortable, organized, and super clean! The next morning we found the buffet set up with sweets, savory snacks, and various drinks, while the coffees were prepared on the spot by the owner and the mother (at least I think it was), both lovely people with whom we gladly chatted during breakfast. An experience we would definitely like to repeat. Highly recommended!

Wonderful ancient villa renovated a short distance from Varazze. It is located in a small hillside village, from which you can enjoy a charming view of the sea below. We appreciated the attention to detail in the spaces, the comfort and spaciousness of the quadruple room and the bathroom, as well as the terrace with a sea view where breakfast was served. Absolutely recommended, for the beauty of the surroundings, the landscape, the quality/price ratio, and the courtesy and kindness of the owner.

Stunning view, well-kept exteriors and interiors. The owner is friendly and very helpful. The only flaw is that you have to go down to the sea by car (or by shuttle, which is however a free service with tickets provided by the manager of Villa Il Poggio).

Magnificent villa with few theme rooms. We enjoyed the panorama, the tranquility of the place, the magnificent villa tastefully furnished and its garden (with a small pool), the easy parking, the strategic location for days at both the sea and in the mountains. We were greeted by Luca, efficient and helpful. For those who do not wish to use the car, there is a shuttle to go to and from Varazze. Good breakfast, quiet rooms and tastefully furnished. It felt like being at our own home! If only!

Great, recommended.

Nice place with cute and clean rooms. They offer a shuttle service that consists of a regular bus, unfortunately not very functional. I thought I could avoid using the car, but there are very few trips, the last one for the return is at 5:30 PM. Suitable for those who travel little or have no problems in finding parking in Varazze.

Luca very hospitable, charming structure modern and historic at the same time. The surrounding garden is wonderful. I recommend the structure for those who want to stay away from the chaos. Not suitable for those without their own means, the shuttle is public and has fixed schedules (some say it can be used on request but I have not tried), we preferred the car even though the parking difficulty is known.

The facility is recently opened, new, May 2021, tasteful, really wow, where every single detail is taken care of, nothing is random, and it's that extra touch that made the stay even more special. A place to definitely come back to, get lost alone or with company. Cleanliness, value for money, and the welcome from the manager made this past weekend special. The kilometers traveled from Bologna were well worth it.
