We had a great stay at San Desiderio. The location is perfect, very close to the sea, the centre of Rapallo and the train station. Marco and Filippo were great hosts and provided us with tips about the region. The rooms were nice as well, precisely what we needed. When entering the hotel, you could smell the dogs, but in our room we did not notice it much. Since the dogs seemed sweet and friendly, it was only a minor detail. Overall, we would really recommend this B&B if you want to visit the region of Rapallo and Portofino.

The host was lovely. Unfortunately, the smell of the dogs (urine, etc.) was really strong. The entire property needs a deep clean.

Dear Daniel, we are sorry you did not enjoy your stay, but as we are a Pet Friendly Hotel (it is very clear from the descriptions and pictures), we have two very sweet Basset Hounds and many of our guests bring their beloved cats and dogs with them. They have their own specific smell, which is not the smell of urine. The entire hotel is constantly and thoroughly cleaned. We can't say the same on how your room was left at your departure. It looked like and smelled like it had been occupied by two free wild teenagers without parents. We are sorry but you chose the wrong place to stay in Rapallo. I was very satisfied with my stay at Hotel San Desiderio in Rapallo. The rooms have a cute design and air conditioning. The hosts are friendly and helpful. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the beach, the old town, and other attractions. Great location.

I had an excellent stay at Hotel San Desiderio and would definitely stay again/recommend it to anyone visiting Rapallo. The location was great, very accessible to the train station and seaside. The breakfast was nice with delicious focaccia. The room was comfortable and clean, with charming/quirky decor. The room was kept nice and cool during the hot summer days. There are sleepy, sweet basset hounds on the property that you can say hi and give some pets to. The best part of the stay, however, was the warmth and friendliness from Marco and Filippo. They were incredibly kind and made me feel very welcome and at home. They were happy to provide good recommendations for things to do around the area. Also, I am an Italian language learner and although their English was much better than my Italian, they knew I appreciated the practice and were happy to help me by speaking slowly and patiently with me in Italian. The generous hospitality was very much appreciated!

We were welcomed with great kindness and care. Marco and Filippo take good care of us. The service is always provided with a smile and a kind word, what a joy! It is a place that lives with two big dogs. If you are looking for an aseptic and soulless place, look elsewhere. I appreciated the simple and quick communication via email. We slept very well in a room with high ceilings that gives space. The breakfast is generous. It is a good base for visiting the surroundings as it is very close to the station and the boat. We will return without hesitation.

Very very nice welcome. Parking in front of the Hotel San Desiderio. Establishment a stone's throw from the beach and the port that can be reached on foot. Very decent establishment for the price and good breakfast.

Cozy structure, excellent location, rooms furnished with character. Maximum availability of the owners and their 'Wagging' friends. Difficult parking to find and not available on site. Good but somewhat 'basic' breakfast. The staff welcomed us with great style and ready to fulfill any request. There are 2 beautiful dogs, sweet and cuddly. The rooms had a good touch of class, cozy and with private bathroom. Excellent location 5 minutes from the sea and near the city center. Unfortunately, I have to make 2 slight negative notes: 1 on the phone we understood that we could pay to park the car on site, but they communicated upon arrival that the spot was not available. 2 breakfast was good, but there wasn't much choice. Considering a good quality price and that these 2 slight shortcomings did not negatively affect the quality of our stay, I would gladly return to this structure.

Sin dalla prima risposta alla vostra richiesta di prenotazione, vi abbiamo indicato che il posto auto in garage alla tariffa di 20, 00 € andava prenotato in anticipo. Ne abbiamo solo 3 disponibili. Lo stesso vale per i 3 permessi auto gratuiti che il comune di Rapallo ci fornisce. Essendo l'albergo previsto al completo, siamo in ogni caso riusciti a fornirvi un permesso auto. Avete chiamato la sera prima dell'arrivo e ve lo abbiamo riservato. La prima colazione è a buffet freddo con bevande calde servite: normalmente viene molto apprezzata per la presenza del dolce e del salato (salumi, formaggio), frutta fresca, succhi di frutta, cereali, focaccia fresca e cornetti in tavola. Vi siete potuti fare vari toast con il tostapane. Se pensavate di trovare anche uova, salsicce o bacon, non sono piatti che prepariamo perché non abbiamo la cucina. Filippo, io e i cagnoloni Zoe e Poldo vi salutiamo cordialmente da Rapallo. Arrivederci, Marco.

A weekend with friends brightened by the kindness and availability of the managers of this property. The environments are simple, but the care they have for guests and details definitely makes up for it. We really felt at home! If I were to come back to this area, I would definitely choose this hotel again. The warm Genoese focaccia in the morning is worth 1,000 points. The breakfast is very good and varied. Excellent location for its proximity to both the Rapallo station, the city center, and the sea. Super approved!

Hotel San Desiderio is really charming, we were very happy and satisfied. Very convenient for those arriving by train as it is a short walk from the station. Extremely clean and with extremely friendly and nice owners. My daughter went crazy for the dog Idefix. I hope to return next year. Highly recommended!

Small hotel with about ten rooms, in the center of Rapallo, garden where you can have breakfast in the beautiful season. Almost family-like management for the welcome, kindness, and availability of the managers. Super equipped rooms and super breakfast with a wide range of sweet and savory options. Four-legged friends are welcome.

Fantastic owners who make you feel at home as soon as you enter. Very well-kept and tastefully decorated rooms, equipped with everything you need. There's also a coffee machine and a kettle for tea or herbal teas. The breakfast, both savory and sweet, is excellent and plentiful. The property is in the city center, two minutes from the pedestrian area. Parking is difficult, but the owners provided us with a pass. Finally, the presence of the cheerful doggie brightens the spirits. Just a pity we only stayed for one night.

Marco is a very sunny, kind, responsive, and effective person! Our stay at Hotel San Desiderio was perfect: clean room equipped with the necessary and more, located in the heart of the city of Rapallo, 5 minutes from the train station and a stone's throw from the seafront. Hello. Only two nights, a quick weekend, and I highly recommend it both for the location (3 minutes walk from the sea and the center, next to a small supermarket, bar, and bakeries within easy reach) and for the structure itself, not brand new from the outside but inside a truly welcoming environment, room furnishings very cute and well cared for in detail.\nA special compliment goes to the managers. Available to provide directions for movements, places to eat, very easy-going, international also in their relationships with foreigners. Good guys, very nice. Greetings to Idefix.

We stayed 3 days in Rapallo and the Hotel San Desiderio is the best one can expect, very good quality-price ratio and the kindness of Marco and Filippo is enviable even to the most starred establishments. Then, at the reception, there is Idefix, a very friendly and docile big dog. I recommend to all people, especially those with pets, like us, to choose this structure for their stay, in the room we even found a little bed and bowls with water and cookies for our "furry son", couldn't ask for more.

Central location, in five minutes on foot you can reach the station, the ferries and the seaside promenade. The managers are very friendly, affable, attentive to the needs of children as well, and the breakfast is excellent. Excellent quality price ratio.
