The hosts are super and very helpful and gave us good suggestions. The location is pretty central and convenient in terms of public transport (bus and tram). Nice and comfortable room in a 3 room apartment. We'll come back and recommend this place.

Stefano is a very good host. Perfect location in the middle of the city. Bus and tram stops just 1 minute away from the location. Spacious rooms with wardrobe, TV, refrigerator, AC. The building has an elevator. The location is only 10-12 minutes walk from most of Rome's attractions, Pantheon, Trevi, Piazza Venezia, Campo de' Fiori, Piazza Navona, Trastevere. Just 1 minute from the accommodation you will find restaurants, cafes, the Jewish quarter. I recommend this location for any period. We will definitely return to this location. Thank you Stefano!!!

Fabulous property, a private haven to rest at the end of busy days being a tourist. Location is great as it is close to the metro, neighborhood offers good food. Nichola our host, communicates well and provides great service. Recommend this property to all.

The room was in a charming and scenic location near most sites, including Trastevere. In fact, we were able to walk to the Vatican in 25 minutes and the Colosseum in 20 minutes and everything in between in less than that! Being on the edge of the Jewish ghetto gave us access to wonderful restaurants in all areas of central Rome. The room itself was spotlessly clean, quiet, and private with good mattresses. Our only complaint was the cost of the arranged taxi ride from the airport, which was quoted to us in an email on this site as 42 Euros. (We were going to take the express train to Termini and then catch a cab). When we arrived at the bnb, the driver said we owed 55. The host from the B&B was called and simply said that gas had gone up. But don't let this put you off, this is a fabulous location with a wonderful host who bent over backwards to do everything he could for us when we had trouble catching a cab the last day we were there. Stefano, thank you so much for a memorable stay. We will be back and will send friends.

Our room at the Portico d'Ottavia was by far the biggest of the 3 BnBs we stayed at during our trip. The location in Central Rome allowed us to walk to all of the major sights, and the neighborhood was surrounded by many great bars and restaurants. Stefano was a great host and offered us the typical Italian breakfast daily, so we hit the streets full. He also booked our transfer to FCO for us, which allowed a stress-free departure. I highly recommend this BnB. Thank you, Stefano!

The B&B is perfectly located in the ghetto, nearby all main attractions, including Trastevere. The room and bathroom are spacious, clean and very quiet at night for sleep. Exceeded expectations in every way. We were looking for a place in the Centro Storico, this was close to the Jewish quarter, within walking distance to transportation, key sites. Perfect for what we wanted. Stefano was gracious and welcoming, with lots of good information about buses and eateries. Will go back next time in Rome.

My husband and I stayed in Stefano's newly renovated apartment. Stefano was wonderful - so very helpful and kind. Very fun to talk to. The location was excellent - about a 3-5 minute walk to Campo di Fiore. We were able to walk to all of the sites. One day we took the bus to the Vatican City (5 minute walk to bus stop) which saved us a 15-20 minute walk to the Vatican. The apartment itself was cute, clean, spacious, comfortable. Everything seemed new, including the double-paned windows which made it nice and quiet. The king size bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was large and shower was great. Also, the elevator was key since the apartment is on one of the top floors. We will recommend to our friends and will stay again if we get the chance to go back. The location is ideally situated in the historical center. You can do everything by foot: less than 10 minutes from the Pantheon, about thirty minutes from the Vatican, about twenty minutes from the Colosseum, from the Trevi Fountain. The triple room is large and comfortable. And to top it off Stefano is super nice and welcoming. This is the place to come for a stay in Rome.

We just stayed at Portico d'Ottavia Rooms for 4 nights. We felt really comfortable. It was our first time staying in a bed & breakfast and the experience was excellent. The B&B is on the fourth floor of an old building that has an elevator. The location is unbeatable, super central next to the Jewish quarter, we didn’t need to use public transport to visit the places we had planned in Rome. The room we took was for three, facing the street and was spacious, bright, and very well insulated, no noise from the outside came through. The beds were comfortable, which is appreciated after roaming the city all day. The room also has air conditioning, a bathroom, and a mini-fridge with complimentary bottles of water provided by Stefano, our kind and cordial host. I can’t forget about the breakfast. Stefano was very attentive and on top of everything, he offers a rich and varied breakfast. Moreover, he gave us very good recommendations on places to visit in Rome. Another point to highlight is that Stefano facilitated the transport from the airport to the accommodation. We paid 55€ and a rental vehicle came to pick us up at Fiumicino. It was so convenient to disembark from the plane and arrive quickly at the accommodation, without any worries, that on the way back we booked this service again. If I were to return to Rome, I would book again at this B&B. We will certainly always remember it with affection. Feeling good in the place where you stay is half the success of the trip.

I had never been to a B&B before and I was pleasantly surprised. Going to a country like Rome, where you go to the hotel only to sleep and rest, it was really worth it. The location is fantastic because you can walk to practically all the places of interest. The host, Stefano, couldn't be nicer. He informs you about everything you need, and he is attentive to your breakfast preferences, which is difficult not to find things you like, as there is everything: coffee, cocoa, teas, juices, various types of toast, jams, butter, assorted fruits, yogurts, nuts, freshly baked pastries, etc. Of course, if we go back to Rome, we will go there again and always recommend this accommodation.

I stayed at this B&B a few months ago with my family and I forgot to write a review, but I want to do it now. Il Portico d'Ottavia is a familiar, simple and genuine place like the host, Stefano, the soul of this place. Our room was spacious and bright, with a nice bathroom. Every morning we had breakfast prepared by Stefano at a communal table where we joined the other guests. The location and the price are unbeatable. Stefano is a welcoming, attentive, generous, and helpful person. It was a pleasure talking to him at breakfast. He recommended less-known places to visit. He bought food suitable for a person intolerant to gluten and dairy. The establishment is located in the historic center and just a stone's throw from the Tiber. If I were to return to Rome, it would be there.

I stayed in this B&B with a friend for a concert at the Circo Massimo. Super central location just a few minutes walk from the Pantheon, so there is no need to take public transport, you can walk. The area is very quiet, and we even returned alone in the evening without any problems. Stefano, the host, is very helpful and kind. In the morning he waits for you for breakfast, which is abundant and rich. He also recommended where to eat, and we had a wonderful meal. I highly recommend it, and if I return to Rome, I would definitely come back here.

A simple but cozy apartment in the heart of Rome. We stayed for a weekend, and thanks to the fantastic location (between Largo Argentina and the Ghetto), we hardly ever took public transport (except to go to Villa Borghese, which is outside the historical center). Everything is really less than half an hour away on foot, and you can easily reach Trastevere, Saint Peter's, and Trevi. If someone doesn't want to walk, there is a bus or tram stop just 3 minutes away on foot, with a tobacco shop next to it to buy tickets. As for breakfast, we never ate out because the selection was abundant, and Stefano (the owner) was always helpful and talkative, ready to give advice on where to eat or visit the city. The room was equipped with towels and shampoo and shower gel, as well as bottles of water in the fridge (which was much appreciated). The area is quite calm and quiet in the evening, or at least no noise came through the windows. Absolutely recommended and I hope to return soon!

I stayed 3 nights with my family and friends. The B&B is small with three large rooms, all with private bathrooms. We occupied all three rooms. The owner Stefano was very welcoming and prepared us a delicious breakfast every morning with a variety of pastries, cakes, tea, coffee, yogurt, and much more. He also advised us on where to eat. The location is right in the center, we never took public transport because Rome is beautiful to see on foot. What can I say? Rome, caput mundi! Thank you very much, Stefano. Stefano is a passionate host: he makes you feel like at a friend's house, very kind and available for advice and requests. The BnB is very clean and quiet, the bathroom is as big as the room itself. The bed and breakfast is located right among the narrow streets of the center of Rome, where around every corner there is a charming little square that surprises you. Rome is big, but from here you can reach many points of interest on foot. The host, Mr. Stefano, is a friendly person who never fails to offer you a great croissant and a friendly chat in the morning. Definitely worth a return!

Three friends, we had a great time! Just steps away from Piazza Argentina, it is located in the Jewish quarter, a place rich in history and tradition. The room and bathroom are spacious and clean, comfortable bed, breakfast based on high-quality pastry. Stefano, the owner and manager of the b&b, was very kind and helpful for any needs.

A perfect stay. Extremely clean facility, well-curated and abundant breakfast, nothing was missing in the room and bathroom (including soap and shampoo). The triple room bathroom we occupied had a window and was very spacious. Water provided for free in the minibar. Strategically located to move around the historic center on foot. Stefano, the manager, is a lovely, punctual, and empathetic person. We will definitely come back.

Room in an apartment in the city center, 2 minutes away from Largo di Torre Argentina. Located in the Jewish Ghetto and a stone's throw from Trastevere, Piazza Venezia, Piazza Navona. Excellent welcome and availability from the host. Good breakfast. The room is quite cozy. The only major flaw, for me, the discomfort of the beds, with very thin mattresses that made me feel the metal grids on my body. I wouldn't be able to stay more than one night just for this reason. For the rest, I would definitely come back.

Everything perfect.

We chose this property to be able to easily visit the Fori area, the center of Rome and the Vatican on foot and we were fully satisfied. We stayed for two nights in this well-renovated bed and breakfast, located on the fourth floor of a historic building, at the beginning of the Jewish Ghetto, in the Rione Sant'Angelo. Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. It was equipped with all the comforts, including a private bathroom, also new, very spacious and clean. The bathroom had a window and all the necessary comforts. The breakfast, both sweet and savory, has always been excellent and abundant, with brioches and fresh fruit included. Stefano, the manager, is very well organized and was very kind in providing us with all the details and useful directions to reach the B&B without any hitches. He also provided us with information on where to have dinner in the evening and on the places to visit. It was really nice to chat with him. We had a really nice weekend in this B&B, immersed in the alleys of that "picturesque and magical Roman atmosphere" that I like so much. We hope to be able to return soon!

The B&B is located on the fourth floor of a building with an elevator, the rooms are spacious and very clean, equipped with amenities such as air conditioning, minibar, and TV. The bathroom is large and with a window. The manager is very helpful and courteous, the breakfast is plentiful and the products served are of high quality. The only criticism is that the entrance to the building is very neglected and the first impression is not pleasant.

We spent two nights at the property. The manager was extremely helpful from the booking stage. A really friendly person ready to help even with personal issues. He even looked for parking for us, keeping it occupied with his car. The property is located in the Jewish ghetto, a beautiful place full of typical local venues. The breakfast is rich and the room has a fridge and a safe. The price is definitely low for what is offered. I don't think anything else can be added.

Very clean place, the manager Stefano is helpful and friendly, excellent breakfast with fresh pastries. The premises are located near the Jewish Ghetto and are convenient for visiting every corner of Rome. It will definitely be our reference point for future visits to Rome.

A little gem in the center of Rome, at an affordable price given the strategic location. The area is very quiet and beautiful, the breakfast is plentiful and even for me as a vegan, the owner, Stefano, made sure to provide croissants and typical Jewish vegan sweets for every breakfast. I was there for study/work, and I must say it was a perfect choice both for the convenience of the central location of the bnb, and for the tranquility of the place and the incredible hospitality of Stefano. I will definitely come back!

Cozy B&B in the Jewish quarter, central location, excellent for reaching the main points of interest. Just outside the street, there is also a convenient bus stop where many lines pass, useful for reaching the station and the main attractions. Stefano, the owner, was immediately extremely helpful, and his advice was very useful. The rooms were extremely clean, and the breakfast was really excellent and well-stocked. I highly recommend this property to everyone, also for the value for money.

We had a great time. New and clean room, excellent breakfast included in the price, ten minutes walk from most attractions in the center, friendly and laid-back manager, makes you feel at home. If we were to come back to Rome, we would definitely book here again.

New structure and well managed by the owner who offers a lot of kindness in addition to a delicious breakfast. Perfect location to visit all the important things in Rome.

The B&B Portico d'Ottavia is the ideal destination for those who wish to visit Rome in a lazy way. There were 5 of us (including 3 boys) and we did not struggle, thanks to the proximity to the major monuments and museums of the Capital. In a few minutes you can reach the center, the Forums, the Colosseum, Trastevere without having to take any public transport. Close to the Jewish ghetto, it offers an atmosphere of calm and security, which I feared not to experience in a city of 3 million inhabitants...but no, everything perfect also thanks to the fact that the access road is semi-pedestrian and therefore car traffic is cut off. Stefano is an exceptional host, competent, friendly, fun, always ready to give advice/help and never intrusive. He spoiled us with abundant breakfasts of freshly baked crunchy croissants (so one has the excuse to walk and burn off). Hoping to return soon to this fantastic city, full of art treasures and good food, we know we can rely on a quality reference at normal prices. Go Stefano! #romacapoccia.

The property is welcoming and located right in the center, a short walk from Campo dei Fiori, Pantheon, and other monuments in Rome. It's ideal for a short visit to the city. The manager is kind, and breakfast becomes a pleasant moment to meet other guests as well. I hope to return soon. Recommended.

B&B on the fourth floor of a building at the gates of the Ghetto, a very central area that through the Teatro Marcello allows you to reach on foot in a few minutes the Capitol, Piazza Venezia, and from there all the main squares with their fantastic monuments and palaces, their spectacular fountains and rich Churches. Through Campo dei Fiori vs Castel Sant'Angelo and St. Peter's Square and then the Gianicolo and Trastevere and... It was four fantastic days. Stefano is very kind, very helpful and attentive. The day started with a great breakfast with savory and sweet products and while we enjoyed these delights, Stefano transmitted to us the great love for his beautiful city, thanks to him we were able to enjoy places and moments that we could not have discovered on our own. Very spacious and clean room and bathroom. We couldn't have asked for anything better. Absolutely recommended and to be returned to (to continue walking on the cobblestones of this extraordinary city) and to taste the artichokes alla Giudia again, the cod from Nonna Betta. We are now returning from our stay in Rome at Portico d'Ottavia. The structure is in a strategic location and almost every monument is within walking distance. The neighborhood is lively and offers many opportunities for lunch and dinner. Stefano, the owner, is friendly and ready to meet your every request, a deep connoisseur of Rome. We will definitely come back.

Fantastic stay, very strategic location located at the beginning of the Jewish quarter, you can walk to any type of monument and attraction. The Jewish quarter itself is very beautiful, rich in history and the food is really good. From the station you can easily reach by public transport in about twenty minutes. Spacious and very clean room, equipped with every comfort. Abundant breakfast with both classic products and fresh pastries. I recommend it for the location, in the Jewish Ghetto of Rome, a lovely place, a stone's throw away from the symbols of this wonderful city (Colosseum, Roman Forum) and for the cleanliness. The manager is nice, friendly, and helpful, making you feel at home but still his guest.

Great B&B from all points of view. Strategic location, brand new, comfortable and clean room and bathroom. Very communicative manager.

Stefano immediately proved to be (contact via email and phone) very, very helpful, efficient and friendly. The B&B's location is excellent: very central, easily reachable by public transport, at the entrance of the ghetto, a stone's throw from Piazza Argentina, so Trastevere, Pantheon, Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona, Piazza Venezia are all within a 5-minute walk (just to mention the first classic well-known places that come to mind). The B&B is very well maintained, cozy, comfortable, well arranged. The breakfast is fresh, good, rich, assorted. During the stay, Stefano confirmed his availability, kindness, welcome and friendliness. Like being hosted by a friend. First choice to contact for any other stays in Rome.

Breakfast is served in the pleasant company of Stefano, the friendly and nice host who made us feel like we were at a friend's house. Certainly when we return to Rome it will be our first thought.

I stayed at the B&B with my family for a small vacation and I think I will return. The room and bathroom were very large (there were three of us) and the location was magnificent, close to everything that one would like to see in the center.
