Mery Lho

Mery Lho's place is somewhat of a hidden gem. Even though it is really old and is falling apart in some places, it is surprisingly functional and well located. It features comfortable beds, a kitchenette with a small gas stove, ample storage place and a good-sized bathroom. The area is rather quiet. At night you just hear an occasional train pass by, and in the morning you wake up to the singing of birds, cuckoo sounds and clucking of the host's chickens. Even though there is no air-conditioner, the ceiling fan worked well and it the morning there was often a cool breeze. I need to add that that the tap water at this B&B tasted very well, and I really enjoyed my having tea there. Because Mery Lho's place is located very near a train station, you can take local trains either to Rome or to the coastal towns or even Naples, which makes transportation convenient and economical. Alternatively, there is a bus stop within about 15 minutes' walk from the property, and the bus that stops there runs about about once per hour takes you to a Rome metro station passing by Ciampino Airport. Within a short distance of the bus stop that I mentioned, there is a medium-sized supermarket, a fruit shop, a cafe and a restaurant specializing in steak. I would recommend Mery Lho's place to someone who is on a budget and appreciates convenience and a rustic feel.
