B&B Alma Mater

The breakfast was not bread like we are used to. But toast and Nutella with some marmalade, a bottle of water for each person, and some nut cookies that you can take with you on the day trip. In the kitchen, you can find some fruity yogurt in the fridge and you can make some coffee or tea in the kitchen, which you share with the other guests. On the other side of the street is a bakery where you can buy fresh Italian bread and some meat or homemade pesto. On the corner of the street is a little supermarket to provide you with everything else. So for your personal preferences, you may need to buy some extra maybe, but the prices are very reasonable.

Very nice place, very close to the subway, just noisy sometimes. Alessandro is a very nice and helpful man. It was a very nice stay. We enjoyed the room, it was worth it. I recommend this place.

This property is in quite a good location, next to the metro and the 46 bus. The house is very well run and Alessandro is a great host. I was, however, extremely annoyed by the quality of the four-bed family room that we booked. I think the other rooms are extremely good, this one was not. It was a white room with cheap grey tiles on the floor and four extremely uncomfortable, cheap beds. Adults and children had difficulty sleeping. Two of the beds had super-thin mattresses, the main double bed was also cheap, ugly and very uncomfortable. I was not happy paying over €200 per night for this room. We had to sleep with the windows closed because of noise, but the remote control for the air conditioning was not to be found. Cleanliness, friendliness and everything else was great, and again, I think the other rooms are very nice. The family room needs further investment. It cannot be compared to the main rooms that are advertised for this B&B.

Allessandro was a great host, had good local restaurant recommendations, and is a charming individual. I picked this location because of its location to a Metro station (barely a 5-minute walk). The location is far away from the higher traffic tourist areas. I was < 10 minutes by train/30 minutes by walk to the Vatican. Because of the distance from tourist areas, the restaurants were cheaper, and the food was better quality. I can recommend Osteria Antici Sapori around the corner as well as Josephs, about a 20-minute walk away for a typical Italian Dinner experience. The room itself was plenty big, I was by myself, but for 2 people plenty of room to spread out. Snacks in the room (cornetto, some lemon cake thing, crackers, and biscotti), standard continental breakfast in the Kitchen/Entry area with an espresso maker and toast machine.

Our stay at Bed and Breakfast Alma Mater was wonderful. The room is spacious and has everything a traveller might need and it is just a few meters away from the subway and the bus stop. Shops and restaurants are in walking distance too. The host is simply great, very kind and helpful. I can only recommend this place if someone would like to visit Rome.

Alessandro was great. Due to a cancelled flight we were arriving very early instead of the day before. He arranged that we could enter the room on our arrival in the morning and had set up a tray with snacks, juice and water so we could have some breakfast before we napped after having been awake for 24 hours. Property is easy to find and quiet on a residential street, but it is so close to the Metro that can take you anywhere with no line changes from Termini Station. Thank you so much Alessandro for turning what could have been a nightmare check-in process into something that was a pleasure. I would highly recommend this B&B without hesitation.

Very clean and comfortable place. The metro station of Baldo degli Ubaldi is very close, 1 minute walking. It's an apartment with 3 rooms and a common kitchen and living room. Nice breakfast every day.

Spacious, comfortable, well-designed, and very clean suites to relax and rest while touring Rome. The location is safe and close to the Vatican City. Alessandro is an excellent host who provided us with lots of helpful tips for visiting Rome, accommodated our requests, and was very responsive.

The B&B is 50 meters from the metro, which is very convenient. We were also impressed by the breakfast, which is truly of quality. What we certainly liked the most was the welcome from our host, who was very helpful. If there was one small flaw to find, it would certainly be the slight noise from traffic. But we highly recommend this B&B, which is an excellent choice.

We stayed there for 3 nights. The operator is super nice, check-in and out are totally uncomplicated. Right next to the accommodation there is a metro station and a bus stop. You can easily reach all the sights from there. There is a kitchen available, with everything you need. The rooms are cleaned daily. Breakfast is nothing special. Packaged croissants and cookies, a bottle of water and drink pouches. You can make your own coffee and tea. We liked it and would come back.

We went to Rome with our two children and we really liked the place. The rooms are large, it is very clean, it has everything necessary to stay for a few days and its position is excellent: very close to the metro, we were able to enjoy the city respecting the walking pace of the children and easily reaching the places we wanted to visit. The host gave us good directions for restaurants and parking and is very very kind. Happy with the experience.

My 14-year-old son and I stayed for a couple of days in June 2025 coinciding with the Ed Sheeran concert in Rome. I recommend the property because it is new, clean, and close to the Baldo degli Ubaldi Metro, from where important places to visit can be reached. The manager was very helpful.

Great B&B in the Aurelio district, modern. Very well connected to the center with Metro A and bus 46. Room and bathroom (no. 1) perfect. Very clean, spacious, new and comfortable mattresses, double pillows, comfortable shower, large and powerful hairdryer. There is a nice breakfast area that can also be used to eat a sandwich or ready meals. Abundant (sweet) breakfast with well-packaged products of good quality. The description on the bedandbreakfast.it website is perfectly accurate. The manager is helpful and friendly, he suggested very good places to eat and gave us other tips on how to get around the city. The only small downside is that you can hear the cars a bit on the street, but we still slept well. Great place, we will keep it as a reference point for our next holidays in Rome.

Excellent B&B Alma Mater in the center of Rome, just a short walk from the subway. Five minutes from the Vatican. Very well connected to Termini.

Stay in a quite tranquil place, very close to the metro station, which facilitates movements, comfortable room and very useful the possibility to use the common kitchen according to one's needs. Positive judgment.

The structure is located inside a building, very close to the metro and the bus stop. In a few minutes you can reach both the city center and the station by public transport.\nPackaged breakfast in the room, with the possibility of eating it in the room or in the kitchen. The kitchen has a coffee machine and other things for breakfast.\nThe room is large with modern furnishings.\nPossibility to leave luggage in the structure after check-out.

In a great location due to its proximity to the San Carlo Hospital in Nancy for those, like me, who need hospitalization and for the family member who wants to stay close to them.

We booked the entire apartment with three bedrooms, all at our disposal, we were 7 people and we had a great time. The owner was very helpful. And the structure is new and well connected to visit Rome. Highly recommended and we will definitely return👍.

Fantastic weekend in Rome, all accompanied by the magnificent availability of Alessandro, manager of this nice and well-kept Bed and Breakfast Alma Mater. We rested like at home, the design is fresh and pleasant. Located in a quiet area but in a strategic place because very close to the metro. Excellent value for money. We will definitely come back.

Beautiful room, clean, well furnished, quiet, great lighting, air conditioning. Bathroom with everything you need, huge shower. Alessandro, the manager, is available for advice; he recommended several restaurants in the area. Maps and books are available. You can leave items in the common fridge. It's a shame that breakfast, due to COVID, is very limited and based only on packaged products. Metro and bus are nearby.

Very convenient the proximity to the metro stop, but also a stone's throw from the bus stop on Aurelia to reach the center; ideal for visiting the Vatican area.

Wanting to give a title to the experience lived by my wife and me during the days we stayed at this accommodation, I would define it as 'the perfect appendix to the trip to Rome'. Recently renovated structure, well-cleaned, furnished nicely, varied and abundant breakfast, my wife was very pleased with the cappuccino made directly by the owner, Alessandro, which is nothing to envy to those in bars; him, Alessandro, the 'long-haired guy' (forgive me, aaahhh) is absolutely the added value to everything; very helpful, courteous, with whom we had the pleasure to chat and interact; he gave us tips on places to eat, all spot on. What else to say, needless to add more, top structure and owner. When we return to Rome, this will certainly be our 'home' (precisely because you feel at home).

It was our first experience in Rome. We had a great time and Alessandro was very kind and helpful, providing us with useful tips on restaurants and how to move around the 'Eternal City'. Very spacious and clean room. We will be back!

My husband and I stayed 3 nights at this B&B Alma Mater and we had a great time. Our room was bright and very clean, public transport (metro and bus) were very close and in a few minutes we could reach the city center. Thanks to Alessandro for his availability and kindness.

Although I am from Rome, I needed to stay for one night in a B&B because my home bathroom broke, and I was fortunate to come across this property, both for the quality/price ratio and the services offered. First of all, it is brand new, so everything is modern and extremely well-kept, and each bathroom is equipped with a hairdryer and courtesy kit; then it is centrally located, very close to San Pietro (you can walk there) and easily reachable by metro A, stop 'Baldo degli Ubaldi' or by buses: 46, 49, 490, 495. Furthermore, it is located in a well-supplied neighborhood with restaurants (there is even a McDonald's a few meters away), pizzerias, supermarkets, and shops. But the real added value is undoubtedly the owners, Alessandro and Milena, a delightful couple with whom we chatted pleasantly and whom we liked very much for the enthusiasm they have invested in their business. They have proved to be extremely helpful, and I think I will book here again when I do the renovations of our house and will need a comfortable place to stay again. In short: highly recommended.
