Casa Dodic

The guesthouse is located on a hill with a beautiful view of the city and the sea. By car or bus (the stop is right in front of the guesthouse) you can reach the city in a few minutes. The hosts are incredibly nice; they spend a lot of time with you and explain local conditions, give recommendations and tell the history. Breakfast is unusually plentiful; there is everything to choose from, from savory dishes to sweet cakes and homemade marmalades. The hosts are very friendly and hospitable. Thank you for everything, we will be happy to come back. Parking is in front of the guesthouse. The only downside is the noise from passing cars, but it is quiet at night. Everything is clean and the bed is very comfortable.

What a beautiful and fine stay we had. We stayed 7 nights and our room was cleaned every day. The breakfast was wonderful!!!! The owners are so friendly... a real pearl in Trieste. Love, Jef and Corrine.

We had a great stay here! Casa Dodic is not only affordable and comfortable, but also perfectly situated for visiting both Trieste and the surrounding region. It is just 10 minutes by car from the Slovenian border (amazing caverns & cheap gasoline!) and a 10-minute drive or bus ride from downtown Trieste. Viviana and Francesco are charming, wonderful hosts. If you'd like to know more about Trieste history, Francesco will happily fill you in and share his considerable library of guidebooks and histories in English, Italian, German, or Slovenian. In addition to being enthusiastic about his home region, he is also very funny and insightful. We were sorry to leave!

I highly recommend Casa Dodic. Francesco and Viviana were wonderful hosts. I very much enjoyed my stay, including the very clean, spacious and comfortable rooms and facilities and the excellent and very full breakfast, including Viviana's delicious home made cakes and biscuits. Francesco is very knowledgeable about the history, culture and traditions of Trieste city and region and very generously makes his knowledge and his extensive library of books on Trieste available to guests. Absolutely amazing experience of staying at Casa Dodic, the rooms are clean, comfortable and very spacious, location outside the city but very conveniently connected by regular public transport. What makes the stay really special is the warm heartedness of the hosts...they are very helpful, kind and generous. An absolutely fantastic find: this former trattoria (founded over 100 years ago by our host's grandfather) is located between Trieste and Basovizza, the bus stop is right outside. There is a view over the city and the sea from the parking lot. The rooms are very tastefully furnished, very well-maintained and equipped with a kettle for making tea or coffee, the breakfast room is cozy with a collection of old radios, handicrafts by the hostess, and a sofa. The outdoor area with trees, flowerpots, a Hollywood swing, and sun loungers invites you to linger, and you can also leaf through one of the many books about the area available in the breakfast room. The breakfast is plentiful, in addition to toast, scrambled eggs with bacon or boiled eggs, cold cuts and cheese, there is fresh fruit (grapes from their own garden), homemade jams by the hostess, savory pastries, and delicious cakes (cream slices! Apple strudel! Yogurt tarts!), homemade pickled gherkins, juice, yogurt, etc.; all lovingly prepared and served by the B&B's two operators, Francesco and Viviana. There are also wonderful conversations: Francesco has a comprehensive knowledge of the region's history and other topics. It was also very pleasant to have the option to wash and iron clothes, Viviana provided us with bus tickets (which are otherwise only available at tobacconists and not on the bus) and Francesco picked us up and dropped us off at the train station. All in all, it felt more like a stay with good friends. We really enjoyed our time there, a big thank you!

The Dodic family are wonderful hosts who do everything to offer guests the best possible stay in Trieste. They provide tips for visits in the area and thanks to an incredible knowledge of the city's history, one gains a better insight. Additionally, right in front of the house is the bus stop. We didn't need a car. So, anytime again!

The hosts are unique! Courteous, friendly, a super breakfast is prepared and served with love. The accommodation is nicely decorated, very functional and very clean. The Wi-Fi works perfectly. Almost unimaginable at this price!

Really great accommodation. The accommodation is spacious and clean. Towels are provided, even soap and shampoo. The bed is made every day, and the bin is emptied. The family managing it is super friendly and nice. Parking available. I could park my motorcycle in front of my accommodation. Bus stop right outside the door. A small drawback: the accommodation is located on a road where the speed limit is supposed to be 50km/h. Unfortunately, no road user respects this. My conclusion: Highly recommended.

We spent four nights at Casa Dodic and had a great stay. The hosts are very friendly and we chatted with them during breakfast. The room and bathroom were clean and spacious. Great location for visiting the city of Trieste (bus stop in front of the B&B) and the surrounding countryside. At night you can hear some road noise from the cars passing on the street in front of the B&B.

We had a pleasant stay at this property. The hillside location outside the town is ideal for exploring the border area. The owners are kind and helpful with suggestions for restaurants and excursions, and Mr. Franco has a wonderful knowledge of history to share. Free parking in front of the property. The room is very cool without needing to use air conditioning. Comfortable bed and spacious room with all amenities.

Viviana and Francesco alone are worth the whole visit: welcoming but discreet,attentive,cultured and lovers of the area;they manage to convey the genius loci in just a few strokes like true virtuosos. Being a little outside the center is more than compensated by the coolness you find when returning from the inevitable nearby excursions. The breakfasts are meticulously prepared by Viviana,who chooses the most representative products of the territory for guests. And then Francesco with his real history,not the one from books but the lived one: his stories about the local people show a man of manifold ingenuity. In short,I could go on for hours describing how complex the experience of staying at Casa Dodic is;it's better to experience it for yourself. We will return soon to these two wonderful ambassadors of Trieste.

Very nice B&B with a very large, super cozy room, as well as the bathroom and the little garden where you can have breakfast. Breakfast was abundant, with many pastries, fruit, drinks and whatever else you desire. The hosts were very polite and hospitable. Excellent value for money. Recommended for exploring the area around Trieste or in Slovenia.

Very pleasant experience. Very spacious, new and very clean rooms. The breakfast was varied and with homemade products where great attention is paid to the guest and any intolerances. Strategic location to visit Trieste and Slovenia. For those who do not wish to take the car, there is the stop in front of the residence. Welcoming, intimate environment where they try to make guests feel comfortable and pampered. The result of all this is the work and dedication of its owners, two truly wonderful people. What I liked most was the hospitality. Viviana is attentive to our needs, from breakfast to room cleaning, and her sweetness shines through in everything she does and says. A little corner of paradise in Trieste. We had the pleasure of staying at Casa Dodic, a truly enchanting B&B. The location is perfect: overlooking breathtaking views, just a few steps from the historical and cultural wonders of the city, yet calm and relaxing, away from the chaos. The structure is well-kept in every detail, welcoming and with a family atmosphere that makes you feel immediately at home. But what makes this place truly special are Francesco and Viviana, the two wonderful hosts. Two exquisite, genuine people rich in stories to tell. Every chat with them was a journey into the most authentic Trieste, full of tradition and passion. Heartfelt thanks to Francesco and Viviana for their impeccable hospitality, for the valuable advice, and for sharing a piece of their beautiful Triestine life with us. We will definitely return!

Very kind managers, convenient parking, clean and also comfortable for the dog.

Ms. Viviana has always been kind and helpful in giving us directions on where to go and where to eat. The room was clean and tidy, as was the bathroom, with very soft towels. The parking for the car is convenient, you just have to cross the street which is not busy and there are pedestrian crossings right in front of the house. The breakfast was more than sufficient for us even without the savory options. We plan to return to Trieste and the search for accommodation will definitely start here, hoping to find a place, of course.

The structure is located in a slightly out-of-town but strategic position with the bus stop in front. So in 5 minutes you are in the center. Very pleasant structure, friendly and helpful managers. Excellent breakfast. We will come back.

The stay went very well. The managers Francesco and Viviana are two fantastic people. They told us many interesting things about the history of Trieste and its surroundings, also giving us information on what to see. Abundant breakfast with excellent cakes and homemade biscuits. The location is strategic for reaching Trieste (both by car and with the bus that stops in front of the structure and is very convenient because it avoids parking problems) and the surrounding areas. The Caves of San Canziano (Slovenia) are also nearby. The room was very clean and spacious equipped with every comfort. Highly recommended structure with excellent value for money.

Francesco welcomed us with a smile and provided invaluable advice for our visit to Trieste. The room is beautiful, spacious, very clean, has everything we need, even air conditioning that saved us from the August heat. Excellent location a bit outside the center, on a hill, but with the bus stop in front. We were in a car, so it was convenient to move around and park right in front of Casa Dodic. Truly, it was a nice experience. I met a wonderful person, Mr. Dodic, who enlightened me about the history of Trieste. He also recommended me on the bars and places to go, better than Google.

Everything beautiful, interesting and pleasant chat with the manager, after a few minutes you feel perfectly at ease. Surely, if I come back to those parts, I will gladly repeat this experience. The nine rating for breakfast is not because it wasn't good and genuine, but only because I am used to a savory breakfast. On this occasion, I send a warm greeting... goodbye.

Top hospitality, cleanliness, kindness, availability for every request. Francesco and Viviana are the managers of this small bed and breakfast with one of the most beautiful views over the Gulf of Trieste. My husband and I stayed at this lovely accommodation with another couple. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, large bathroom and shower. Excellent cleanliness and abundant breakfast with homemade cakes and jams. We also tried a strudel with phyllo pastry made by Viviana, really delicious. The owners were very helpful in giving advice on places to visit, with whom we also had the opportunity to learn more about the history of Trieste. Highly recommended B&B!

Great experience, friendly and cordial managers, clean and large room, excellent breakfast. The only flaw of the structure is the location far from the city center but there is a bus stop right in front that allows you to move comfortably by public transport. highly recommended.

We stayed for three nights, we had a great time, strategic location, easy to reach the city by bus. Mr. Francesco is a friendly person, he chats very willingly, he gave us all the information about the city and recommended where to eat, and where to say he was absolutely right, Mrs. Viviana prepares excellent pastries for breakfast. We stayed 2 nights at Casa Dodic and we had a great time, both for the room (spacious, comfortable, clean), for the outdoor space (always useful when traveling with a dog), for the breakfast (abundant, delicious cakes prepared by Mrs. Viviana), for the hospitality (the owners are really courteous and nice). We felt 'at home'; we already plan to come back here on the next occasion.

Viviana and Francesco are very attentive and meticulous hosts. They make the guests feel as comfortable as possible. The property is equipped with everything necessary for a vacation, from air conditioning to television, hairdryer, and various shower products. The cleanliness is excellent, as well as the breakfast with fresh products made by Mrs. Viviana. Mr. Francesco is always available to give advice on how to move around the Trieste Slovenia area. Excellent structure. Located in a fairly strategic position to reach the main communication routes. Rooms very clean and quite spacious (we arrived on the hottest days and the air conditioning, with which our rooms were equipped, proved to be very useful, making our stay even more comfortable). Very good breakfast (with many homemade products) and abundant, served in a beautiful location. Owners very kind and extremely available to provide any indication that was useful to make our excursions optimal. Absolutely recommendable structure. Structure in a slightly secluded position compared to the city center, very clean, kind and friendly managers, breakfast with homemade cakes, large room and bathroom, equipped with everything, air conditioning. Very pleasant outdoor garden. Pets accepted. Excellent value for money.

We stayed only 1 night, everything was perfect both for the friendliness and kindness of the manager and for the beautiful, clean structure. Excellent and plentiful breakfast especially the homemade cakes and jams made by the lady. Great location, just outside the center and with a bus stop right outside the house that goes directly to the center. We will definitely come back.

The property is in a very convenient location, being very close to the bus stop and facing the road (it is still isolated from traffic and cars). The cleanliness is impeccable, Casa Dodic is very beautiful and the hosts are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is generous and also boasts homemade delights.

Welcoming structure in a strategic location, very kind and helpful owners, the room was very beautiful and lacked nothing, in the bathroom we also found everything necessary for the shower, even the moisturizer to put under the shower, a gem I hope to return because it's really worth it. We deliberately chose this place precisely for its location 10 minutes outside the center of Trieste to avoid the problem of parking which is very problematic and expensive in the center. The location is great for trips to the border and other destinations. From here you can see a beautiful panorama and the nearby road is not noisy. The B&B is very welcoming and clean, with modern style rooms that offer all the comforts. The breakfast room is a beautiful glass veranda furnished typically well where we enjoyed excellent and abundant breakfasts. The managers are very hospitable and kind and know how to advise in the best way, they also lent us a lot of informative material to read. To visit the city during the day, we used the bus that arrives in the center in 10 minutes and the stop is right in front of Casa Dodic. We had a great time and highly recommend it. Structure located about 5 km from the center of Trieste on the road leading to Basovizza, managed by a very affable and courteous couple who make you feel at home. Very spacious room furnished soberly and with taste, impeccable cleanliness and abundant breakfast with some homemade products by the lady. I feel like recommending it, we had a great time and surely if we return to Trieste it will be a pleasure to stay there again.

We were the first guests of this delightful B&B but I only now find the time and the way to review it. My wife and I must thank Francesco and Viviana for their exquisite hospitality. We were absolutely pampered thanks to their courtesy and availability in providing a truly excellent service. The structure is brand new, they have three spacious rooms furnished in a simple and nice way. Moreover, the location is quite strategic as it is easily reachable from the highway and convenient for the city center. Absolutely recommended.

Passing through Croatia, we decided to stop in Trieste for one night at this bed and breakfast. We stayed for 8 days! Excellent welcome and availability from the owners, two wonderful and friendly people who welcomed us and made us feel at home. The environment is very well cared for and extremely clean, excellent breakfasts and a fabulous panoramic location with a view of the sea; also, just 5 minutes from the center. Franz and Vivi, the owners, besides being courteous, are excellent 'navigators' and guided us in discovering a city we did not know and that fascinated us very much, especially seen through Franz's historical stories, so much so that we did not go to Croatia.
