This place is wonderful in itself, but Pippo, the host of this B&B, makes it truly exceptional. His love for his hometown and its history is simply impressive. He gave us excellent advice about logistics, timing, and orientation in the city, and thanks to that we managed to see a lot during our two days in Matera. This little B&B receives top marks in every category, from its location to its impeccable cleanliness. We also had the feeling that the spherical vaulted ceilings of the house somehow contribute to a particularly good night’s sleep. And yes, the place is really quiet at night, which is not always the case in Italy. The B&B has a very convenient location on the southern edge of the historic district, il Sasso Caveoso. On the one hand, most walking routes in Matera are circular; on the other hand, shops, restaurants, and cafés can be reached within just a couple of minutes on foot. Pippo welcomed us personally, helped arrange parking for our car, and explained the orientation and logistics of getting around the city. The breakfasts deserve special praise. They did not entirely follow the concept of a typical Italian breakfast — simply because the selection was much more generous. But the Italian spirit was definitely there. So having breakfast at Pippo’s place is absolutely worth it. Another special detail is Pippo’s collection of books about Matera. This small library feels like a little museum and offers a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the city. In the evenings, after long walks, we enjoyed leafing through these books. Pippo is a great host! Very welcoming and hospitable. Always attentive to the needs of his guests. Very clean environments, excellent and abundant breakfast with local products. Additional strengths are the possibility of having parking nearby and electric bikes! We recommend Lamia Room Rentals to all our friends! Have a good holiday.

The perfect place for a short stay in Matera. Located in a strategic location from which to easily move towards the Sassi or towards the center for shopping. Mr. Pippo is a very kind and helpful person, his advice on Matera and surroundings is precious.

We are a group of 5 friends who stayed two nights in this B&B, which is indeed a very charming hotel. Pippo welcomed us with great kindness and friendliness. At our request, he suggested places to eat that were a hit. Thank you Pippo for your warm hospitality.
