I stayed at this B&B with my boyfriend in the first week of July and we were pleasantly surprised. First of all, the location is excellent, both for Porto Cesareo from which you can reach, in a few minutes by car, the most beautiful beaches of Salento (Punta Prosciutto, Punta Lapillo), and in half an hour to an hour the more distant locations, but absolutely worth seeing (Otranto, Lecce, Santa Maria di Leuca), and for the B&B which is close to the historic center, to the town's beaches, easily reachable on foot, to supermarkets, pharmacy, bakery, small shops, etc. Furthermore, we always found parking (free) easily in front of the property, or in some cases in the adjacent street; the only day we had more difficulty was a Saturday evening for obvious reasons. Another thing I want to tell you is: do not trust the photos. The rooms are much more beautiful in person than in the photographs, at least ours! A little suggestion for the owner is to take better photos, in fact when we entered we did not expect it to be so beautiful. We were fortunate to have a very large room (in reality it was perhaps a quadruple, because in addition to the double bed, there was a bunk bed) and the decor was really nice and essential. White double bed with fuchsia sheets, white walls, except for one glossy fuchsia wall, modern white wardrobe, flat screen television, a very useful refrigerator with a freezer section where we kept ice pops to take in the cooler bag every day to the beach, some chairs, a coat rack, a mirror, bedside tables with related bedside lamps, a chandelier, and a floor lamp that when turned on in the evening made the wall look red. The bathroom, also modern in style, was quite large, the shower was really beautiful and large, then there was the sink with the red cabinet and drawers to put all my cosmetics. There was a cabinet in a corner to put various things. Aesthetically beautiful and also comfortable. In the bathroom there was a medium-sized hairdryer but working well, and for the room, despite having mosquito nets, the owner gave us a device and several tablets for mosquitoes, which I believe is very useful, which I always use at home and which I did not expect to find. The only thing you need to bring is bubble bath and shampoo. If we really have to find a flaw, the only thing I would have added is a small table to put things on, but we used the refrigerator for this purpose. Everything is new and functioning well; perhaps the only thing I would change is the shutters that sometimes got stuck if I pulled them too hard and that even if closed all let in some little slivers of light at the top, and this can bother light sleepers like me who cannot sleep if it is not completely dark and if the television's LED is also on at night, but I managed to sleep anyway. Our room overlooked a light well that then led to the street, so there were windows and not a balcony, but it did not feel claustrophobic because the light well had one side open to the street. I really liked the arrangement of the rooms, because they are all well separated, each with its own independent entrance, and you do not hear the noises of people in other rooms! They are better arranged than the hotel rooms I have stayed in in previous years! The only common entrance is that of the door, which leads to the stairs that go up to the upper floor, to the corridor where there are the doors of the rooms, well divided as I told you before. On the upper floor, however, there is a convenient terrace where you can hang out your clothes if you feel the need to wash them. I forgot to tell you that in addition to the air conditioner, there is wifi connection, very useful! Especially if, like us, you set off on an adventure and look for new places to visit the next day on the internet. I read in a previous comment that the owner's availability was not appreciated; honestly, we were very satisfied with Anna Rita but also with the rest of the staff, in fact she was friendly and available from the moment I contacted her for information, which drove me to book this B&B rather than others. Moreover, she welcomed us quickly, kindly, cordially, but essentially, without losing too much in chatter, answering our questions, providing all the information that could be useful to us, and throughout our stay she remained at our disposal, without however being intrusive! As soon as we needed her, we called her and she answered, and also every now and then she sent us messages to update us on the festivals taking place in nearby towns, the nightclub entries on the guest list, and various parties: very, very useful! Furthermore, one day on the terrace we met a very kind and nice blonde lady from the staff with whom we became friends and who also gave us advice on places to visit, on the right wind to find calm sea, etc. Therefore, excellent hospitality, kind owner, cordial, available when needed but not clingy or intrusive! Cleaning was done every other day, and various towels were provided for the shower, for hands, for the bidet, and also spare towels. I cannot tell you the time of cleaning because it was always done when we were not home, even though we took very comfortable times in the morning to wake up, have breakfast, return to the room, finish getting ready, and go to the beach, then we returned in the evening and found everything magically clean in an excellent way! The only perhaps sore point in my opinion is breakfast, in fact it is not done in the structure as in almost all B&Bs, which offer a very varied breakfast made by them, but it must be done at the bar. This can be both a positive and a negative aspect, because on the one hand, the nice thing about a B&B is having a wide breakfast with homemade cakes, where you can take whatever you want, on the other hand, you are always bound to a schedule (usually by 10)! Having breakfast at the bar instead, you can only choose one drink and one pastry, but you can go whenever you want! Especially if you are young this is a great advantage because the idea of waking up every morning by 9:30 for breakfast does not please me at all; instead, here we woke up whenever we wanted and went at whatever time we felt like having breakfast. The bar "Il Principe" is the chicest in all of Porto Cesareo, it is very nice, by the sea, but the raw materials are nothing special, the pasticciotti and croissants are decent, not excellent, however, despite everything, it was a nice experience to go every day for breakfast served at the bar! Furthermore, I felt quite satisfied, especially if I took the cappuccino and the nutella shell! To sum up, we had a great time, and I think that if we return to Porto Cesareo we will stay here again! Lastly, I want to talk about the prices, which are lower than other B&Bs I inquired about, further away or closer to the center, which ask for slightly higher prices per day but which make a difference over the entire week. The money we spent for the B&B Acquachiara is really worth it! Therefore, we liked everything, except for breakfast, which can be a point in favor or against depending on the person staying there. A greeting to Anna Rita and all the staff. It was a fantastic holiday and Salento enchanted us, beautiful.
