Lo Sghimbescio

This wonderful Bed & Breakfast deserves the highest marks on all levels. It has the Italian charm of an old house located on the slope of a valley, offering beautiful views and tranquility of a small village. The room was very comfortable, spacious and impeccably clean. And all this is topped with an amazing hospitality of the owner, Giancarlo, the most kind, attentive host. He made us a wonderful breakfast with a selection of local cheese and prosciutto, honey and home made jams, yoghurt and fresh fruit. He even baked fresh pastries, some of which we took with us on a hike. He also recommended and insisted on helping us with reservations for dinner at local restaurants (fantastic food). Last but not least he gave us great advice and information on local attractions and walks, as well as on the best places on our route through Italy. This was a very special and unforgettable stay. I recommend Lo Sghimbescio very warmly to anyone discovering this beautiful region.

Hospitality and welcome, cleanliness, room and common areas decoration style, breakfast, natural setting, and silence are definitely the strengths of the property. But they are in a "non-ordinary" way. There is, in fact, a leitmotif that gives all this a fairy-tale aspect and a touch of magic: the meticulous attention to details, their meanings, and what they evoke, a bit like in Italo Calvino's book "Invisible Cities": where signs, languages, words, exchanges, and memories draw new paths of discoveries and surprises; where the real merges with the imaginary; where the traveler is allowed to rediscover a past he no longer knew he had.\n\nTo you the curiosity and the pleasure of discovering all these details and being fascinated by them. With a piece of advice: stay for several days, and come back several times, moving through the different rooms, because each room offers furnishings, colors, scents, paintings, books, shades, atmospheres, and rich details that can project you into a dimension of its own.

Very nice place with lovely rooms, breakfast room, and sitting room. The kindness of the host did the rest, in addition to the very good products served at breakfast. In the house that has a splendid garden, you can breathe an air of serenity and almost magical. Absolutely recommended.
