Salerno in Alto Mare B&B

Alto Mare B&B was clean, in a great location and we could sea the sea from our balcony. There was a nice selection of sweet or salty foods for breakfast, with coffee and we left each morning satisfied. Luca was a very kind and attentive host. We hope to be back soon!

This was a great choice. The service was 10 out of 10 Clean and tidy and Luca and his wife were so helpful, friendly and nice.

Thank you thank you thank you! I had the pleasure of staying here and I have to say, if you get an opportunity to stay here DO IT! You will be treated with absolute kindness ! The room itself was clean, comfortable and had a beautiful balcony. The breakfast spread in the mornings were beautiful and Luca and his beautiful wife treat you like you are friends or family. I stayed in Positano longer than I anticipated one night and even though i was due to check out at 10am the next day, they held the room at no cost for me until I returned in the afternoon the next day. They even gave me a discount! How is that for service?? Let me tell you, these people are great people who run a beautiful and honest business. This is really important when you are traveling around Europe! Thank you to Luca and his wife for making our time on the Amalfi Coast special. We often think of you and when we return there is NO OTHER PLACE we would stay in Salerno. PS- the town of Salerno is gorgeous! It is a must see! 5 stars from me!

Veronica and Luca are wonderful hosts, knowledgeable, funny, kind, and smart.

This was our first ever stay in a bed and breakfast, so we unsure what to expect. Luca and Veronika were excellent hosts. Luca gave us some excellent restaurant recommendations and it was very helpful to have someone to ask for help with catching the bus and ferry. Our room and bathroom were both clean and we were provided with plenty of towels. It was also so nice that they offer laundry service! The breakfast was great as well. On our last day we were leaving early to catch a train, so Luca and Veronika left sandwiches in the fridge for us to bring on our journey. They go above and beyond. Great location in Salerno! We hope to be back soon! One suggestion for the future — it would have been helpful for more specific directions about what to do upon arriving at the apartment. We had trouble finding the entrance and buzzer once we arrived in the square. But this was easily solved by emailing Luca!

I was visiting Southern Italy for the first time. I'm from California and was comfortable with taking local transportation to tour the surrounding cities. After reading so many positive reviews about this bed and breakfast, I further researched that this place was easily accessible by public transportation to the more popular tourist areas (Ravello, Positano, Amalfi). Additionally, Salerno is a great city for providing local flair and a nice neighborhood feeling away from the busy and traffic clogged areas further into the Amalfi Coast. I arrived in the mid afternoon, which was great because it gave me time to navigate the area before it got too late, since I only speak English. I knew I selected the right place when I got lost on my way to the bed and breakfast, and I stopped by a small cafe. The owner of the cafe called Luca and Luca came to escort me to the bed and breakfast! Once I arrived, I was very pleased with my room. The hospitality continued during my 4 day stay here, with Luca providing excellent recommendations of excursions to experience while in the area. Each morning, Veronika prepared a customized vegetarian breakfast for me. I was able to visit Paestum, Ravello, Amalfi and Positano by the ferry or train. I even hopped on the local bus. But after long days of activities, it was wonderful coming back to Salerno and rest at this lovely bed and breakfast. I'm grateful to have met this wonderful couple. I highly recommend staying here and will return here on my next visit to the area.

Our stay in this B&B was amazing. We have not met the host, Daniele met us and provided the place. Daniele is best host we have ever met. He was so helpful, thoughtful and kind to us. When we arrived we had some problems with booking, as I booked a room for a wrong month. However, Daniele was so supportive and helped us to solve that problem. Moreover, he is so careful and attentive for his guests. He wrapped our breakfast every morning to save our time in journeys, helped to manage and plan our trips across Amalfitano, gave all regarding information about communication, places to see and visit, places to taste great Italian food. B&B has a good location in the city center near shopping areas, main train station, bus station and ports from where you can caught a ferry to Capri, Amalfi, etc.

It was my best B&B experience ever, everything is exactly as in the pictures. It's right in the center of Salerno. Luca and Veronica are very friendly and helpful, they made the trip unforgettable. The breakfast was also great. The room was always absolutely clean and comfortable, the wiew is amazing. Wonderful restaurants on your door step as well. Salerno was a big surprise for me, it's a lovely city, with fantastic shops, churches, gardens, and ful of life. I'd definitely recommend staying here and looking forward to returning here in the future!

I stayed at Salerno in Alto Mare for the final two nights of a three-week tour of southern Italy in October, 2014. I'd made the booking months ahead relying on Trip Advisor's reviews. As so many others have mentioned, Luca is about the nicest and most helpful host you could ever hope for. I arrived with TOO much luggage, which he patiently assisted in carrying from the parking garage, which is about a ten minute walk from the B&B outside the historic zone. There is elevator access to his apartment, which is on the seventh floor of a building near the Lungo Mare, or Seaside Drive. In the evening, you can watch the sun set on the sea from the balcony. The surrounding buildings, painted coral and umber, glow as the light dims, while the breeze whisks through the trees. The apartment is Luca's home and you feel like you're visiting a friend. Breakfast is delicious and plentiful, with fine sliced meats and cheese, fresh bread and croissants, wonderful coffee and juice. The fridge in the common room has drinks and a few snacks, and you are welcome to sit there as well. My room and bathroom were spotless and the bed very comfortable. I did not have time to get to know Salerno- I spent my only day on an excursion south of town, to one of the dairy farms which produces superlative bufalo mozzarella cheese and yogurt, then on to the remarkable Greek ruins and archeological museum at Paestum. These are both marvellous sites and Luca helped me organize and make the most of this day. On the morning of my departure, Luca made an early breakfast, again assisted me with my luggage to my car, and made sure I knew how to safely proceed to Naples airport for my return flight. He is a real gentleman, and has made a lovely, welcoming environment for travellers to Salerno.

Luca is the most attentive, friendly and considerate owner. We were 12 hours late to check in but this was no problem for him who made us feel so welcomed. The rooms and bathroom were exceptionally clean, spacious with a sea view balcony, just as we requested. He has a fridge for guest use which is nicely stocked with water and fruit juice. There was also a bottle of wine available for the guests if they wished. He has a very good knowledge of english (which was greately appreciated) and gave great advice on places to eat and the best way to get around Salerno and neighbouring towns. The B&B is in a great location and a nice 10 minute stroll to the bus and train station, where you can catch trains to Pompei and other places of interest, and the pier where you can catch boats to neighbouring Amalfi. The only downside is that our stay was too short! We will defintely be going back again. He made the few days we were there feel relaxed, warm and very personal.

Luca made my Son and I feel as though we were part of his family, he welcomed us with open arms and made us feel very comfortable. He made great suggestions for sights and dining, I would recommend staying here to everyone.

Kudos to Mario for being a wonderful host while visiting Salerno! Very clean rooms, great location for day trips along the coast, satisfying and filling breakfasts. Mario gave excellent recommendations and was so helpful... great guy!

The name of the B&B should be changed to "Rent-a-Son"! and believe me you will want to add… "my favorite son!" We could not be prouder of Luca if he truly were our son. Luca has it all going for him. His energy, concern, knowledge, amiable manner, good looks, willingness to go the extra mile, attention to detail, intrinsic kindness.. the list of superlatives that describes him is extensive and sets him apart from any other proprietor we have known. He arranged and oversaw cooking classes and tours, made endless, detailed recommendations, accompanied us to departure points, solicited and gracefully and gratefully accepted suggestions! The B&B is perfectly located in the heart of the old city, close to every mode of transportation, every style of restaurant and all of the notable attractions. The beds are comfortable, the penthouse apartment attractively decorated, and the cleanliness exceeds the highest standards. The sea views that dominate the living area and bedroom balconies are breathtaking. From the first afternoon sharing a celebratory glass of wine on the veranda, sea breezes wafting in from the west, sailboats dotting the horizon, the city below, to our sorrowful arrivederci.. remained a superb experience. Nothing could have been done to improve our enjoyment. This 4 day stay.. more a visit with a special relative than a "place to sleep".. at B&B Alto Mare was the highlight of our 2 week Italian holiday.

Plus facile en français! Commençons par le négatif (légèrement) : je ne pensais pas que le ménage serait fait tous les jours, le lit refait, et les serviettes changées tous les jours! Si j'avais voulu ça j'aurais choisi l'hôtel! moi je n'en demande pas tant, mais peut-être d'autres clients cela leur convient? A part ça, propreté impeccable, accueil très sympa, plein de conseils sur le tourisme et les visites, j'ai largement suivi ces conseils et je m'en suis trouvé très bien. Pour moi l'appartement était bien placé, pas loin du centre, des arrêts de bus et surtout de la gare. Et le meilleur pour finir: la clim! 28° les matins et 35° le soir tous les jours, sans clim, ç'aurait été dur! Un grand merci à Vero et Luc!

War drei Tage in Salerno. Es hat mir außerordentlich gut gefallen. Der Höhepunkt der Altstadt ist der Giardino della Minerva, einfach wunderbar. Von Salerno kann man mit dem Boot die Costiera Amalfitana und mit dem Zug Paestum und Pompei problemlos erreichen. Der schönste Strand ist sicher bei Paestum.

Das Salerno In Alto Mare ist sehr zu empfehlen. Das B&B ist gemütlich und sauber. Man hat sehr viel Freiraum. Das Frühstück ist lecker und abwechslungsreich und Luca und Veronika sind aufgeschlossene und freundliche Menschen die mir tolle Tipps zum Ausgehen und Besichtigen gegeben haben. Ich komme gerne wieder. LG Ilka.

Consiglio il soggiorno perché vi sentirete come a casa.

Gentilezza e forte senso di ospitalità sia di Luca, il gestore, che della sua compagna Veronica. Consigliato per la posizione strategica a ridosso dal centro e vicino al lungo mare.

Consigliatissimo! Bella struttura pulita e confortevole situata nel centro storico della città. Colazione varia, abbondante e soddisfacente soprattutto per chi ha problemi di intolleranze alimentari. Grazie ai padroni di casa, Luca e Veronika, una coppia splendida, gentile e molto disponibile.

Luca il proprietario, persona stupenda, ci ha aiutato in tutto, a trovarci il parcheggio, ad indicarci cosa e come visitare Salerno, dove mangiare ecc. Il B&B si trova in pieno centro storico, nel bel mezzo delle Luci di Artista, a due passi dal Duomo e dalle più note attrazioni della città. Struttura molto pulita e curata, colazione super. Ci torneremo senz'altro.

Io e mia moglie abbiamo soggiornato 2 giorni in questo B&B e possiamo dire che la posizione era ottima sia per visitare a piedi il centro storico oppure per dirigersi sul lungomare. Dal porticciolo si possono prendere i traghetti per andare in costiera amalfitana. Non abbiamo avuto il piacere di conoscere il proprietario Luca, ma Daniele il suo sostituto è stato decisamente all'altezza. La struttura è pulitissima e c'è un panorama spettacolare. Sicuramente il prossimo anno ritorneremo e questa volta in tre.

Ottima la posizione e tranquillo il posto anche se in pieno centro. Luca, il gestore, è molto efficiente. E prodigo di buoni consigli. Molto pulito e confortevole. Lo consiglio è ci tornerò!

Il B&B è in pieno centro storico, al settimo piano di un palazzo, molto comodo per raggiungere a piedi le varie cose da visitare. La zona è piena di negozi e ristorantini tipici. Nelle vicinanze c'è un comodo garage. La struttura è confortevole, pulitissima, con una notevole vista sul mare e la città. Una camera ha il bagno interno mentre le altre due lo hanno fuori ma vicinissimo. Il nostro era proprio di fronte! I gestori sono due ragazzi molto gentili e disponibili, che sanno consigliare cosa vedere, dove mangiare e fornire notizie di vario genere anche per i dintorni da visitare. Forniscono cartine e indirizzi di tutto. La colazione è all'italiana ma credo che, chiedendo, si possano organizzare anche per qualcos'altro. Ci siamo trovati molto bene e contiamo di ritornarci. Appena arrivati ci siamo subito sentiti veramente a casa nostra. La cortesia tipica di certe zone della nostra Italia ha subito fatto breccia nella nostra voglia di semplice e vera accoglienza. Siamo rimasti veramente soddisfatti anche dalla pulizia e dalla premura. La voglia di fare bene e onestamente il proprio lavoro penso ci ha piacevolmente meravigliati. Se posso auguro a loro due ogni bene!

Luca e Veronica, sono degli ottimi padroni di casa. Squisitamente gentili, disponibili e pronti a coccolare i loro ospiti. Sanno sapientemente consigliare luoghi e ristoranti da visitare e dove poter degustare le pietanze locali. Bravi ragazzi, ci rivedremo presto. Maria.

Io e mio marito abbiamo soggiornato in questo B&B dal 6 al 9 Giugno, per rilassarci. Ci siamo subito sentiti a casa nostra. Il proprietario Luca è, cordialissimo e simpatico sempre disponibili nel dare informazioni di qualsiasi genere rapporto qualità/prezzo eccellente, struttura molto curata e pulitissima, la colazione abbondante, con dolci freschi. Questo B&B nel quale ho soggiornato a fine Giugno con una mia cara amica è assolutamente meraviglioso! Pulitissimo e confortevole. Luca e Veronika, sono molto cordiali e disponibili... un luogo ideale per sentirsi a casa e poi alzarsi la mattina e dal balcone e vedere il mare, bellissimo! Ottima la colazione, la posizione per visitare la costiera amalfitana e il rapporto qualità prezzo. Sarà la mia base per future tappe a Salerno. Lo consiglio vivamente!

Ho soggiornato in questo B&B dal 28 al 30 Giugno, con mia cognata, per poter visitare la Costiera Amalfitana e Salerno. Ci siamo subito sentite a casa, coccolate e a nostro agio. I proprietari Luca e Veronika sono due ragazzi eccezionali, cordialissimi e simpatici, sempre disponibili nel dare una mano, il loro punto di forza è la soddisfazione del cliente al 100%. Sicuramente è il migliore B&B in cui ho soggiornato per molti aspetti: rapporto qualità/prezzo eccellente, struttura molto curata e pulitissima, camera con splendida vista mare e sul centro storico di Salerno, buona e abbondante la colazione, con dolci freschi e sfogliatelle squisite acquistate al mattino. Luca è un “padrone di casa” perfetto. La parola chiave di questo B&B è professionalità e disponibilità, e non ha nulla da invidiare ad un albergo a 4 stelle. Io l’ho soprannominato “Casa di Luca”. Ci torneremo sicuramente.

La caratteristica che lo contraddistingue è sicuramente la posizione in alto che consente un'ottima vista sul mare e sulla città. Altri B&B sono in palazzi storici molto belli ma altrettanto scomodi in quanto manca l'ascensore. I gestori sono una coppia di ragazzi giovani gentili e disponibili nel dare informazioni utili per il soggiorno. L'appartamento e la camera doppia sono molto comodi e silenziosi ed adatti anche alla permanenza di coppie con bimbi piccoli.
