I'm so pleased to have booked and stayed at Khalisah. The location is ideal. I felt, as a lone female traveller, quite safe and the situation is handy for locations throughout the city. My check-in couldn't have been easier and more helpful, my room clean and well appointed; breakfasts were fresh and appetising. The members of the team with whom I interacted were friendly and helpful. I'll definitely return when I'm next in Palermo.

Very nice hotel. Great welcoming staff. Very good location. Two big problems: light in the room is far too dim; the stairs to the room are far too narrow, too high and dangerous.

The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms are stylish and modern and designed with loving detail. The bathroom is more like a water park though... the shower was so clogged it spilled onto the whole floor after 1 minute. The bidet faucet leaked sideways. The sink leaked too so just in general difficult to find a dry place to put stuff. The toilet most definitely needs a deep cleanse as it emitted a quite pungent urine smell. The very sweet staff did come up quickly to mop up the shower spill though...

We stayed at Khalisah on our last night in Sicily. It is in the Kelsa area of Palermo. Had we known how interesting that area is, we would have stayed there earlier in our trip. We appreciated that the host, Sergio, and his staff were waiting for us, even though we were late. The room was super functional and immaculate. We really appreciated the complimentary slippers, as so many lodgings in Sicily had cold tile floors.

Fantastically helpful welcome, especially in helping us locate and use safe local parking with our heavy bags. Lots of great advice on places to visit and eat. Comfortable bed. Quiet and secure location. Comfortable bed and super breakfast. Highly recommended.

Probably the most kind and welcoming staff in Palermo! It is 10-12 minutes walking distance from the central train station. Overall, it was a nice experience and we would definitely come again.

Khalisah is a jewel to say the least. A wonderfully inventive restoration done with flair and very good contemporary taste, while still evoking a sense of the neighborhood’s Moorish/ Arabic history. It’s run by Sergio, a host among hosts, very helpful, resourceful, and a font of information and good advice. Don’t miss his mother’s delicious cakes and breads at breakfast. The entire operation feels like a family endeavour in the best possible way and we felt very much at home. Thank you Khalisah! Khalisah è a dire poco un gioiello. Un restauro meravigliosamente creativo a due passi da Piazza Marina, di ottimo gusto contemporaneo che però evoca la tradizione Moresca/ Araba del quartiere. Il padrone di casa è Sergio, ospite perfetto, attentissimo, disponibile, intraprendente e una vera fonte di informazioni e consigli utili. Non perdetevi le squisite torte e pani che confeziona sua madre per la colazione! È un impresa di famiglia nel senso migliore della frase e ci siamo immediatamente sentiti a nostro agio. Struttura diffusa, posizione centrale, comoda e silenziosa, anche se il circondario non è molto bello. Camera graziosa, colazione buona, personale gentilissimo, peccato che la pulizia, a mio parere sia insufficiente, non mi dilungo a descrivere ma si può capire. Non basta creare delle strutture graziose, bisogna anche mantenerle, con un minimo di manutenzione e controllare che le pulizie vengano eseguite.

Nice B&B, located in an optimal position to visit the city but be careful with parking: the free one indicated near the structure is often full, the area doesn't have many parking spots (especially if you arrive in the evening).

A Bed and Breakfast definitely recommended: for its location (within the beautiful neighborhood of Khalisah, lively day and night, and in progressive renovation; Palazzo Abatellis, Palazzo Chiaramonte Steri, the GAM, Palazzo Mirto, Palazzo Butera, Piazza Marina, Piazza Magione, are just some of the places within easy reach), for the care of the environments, the excellent breakfast, the kindness of the staff and with a good quality/price ratio. Located in the center of the old city, from here you can easily walk to all the most interesting tourist, museum and non-museum buildings, and the beautiful waterfront. Breakfast is very good! The only reason for the 9 instead of a 10 is that in such a good breakfast (very good fresh pastries), and being in Sicily (land of goodness), we would have expected fresh bread and not packaged, orange juice and not juice, local cheeses and not packaged. Owner and staff are poorly trained and quite rude (always ready to justify gross errors). We were given a quadruple room instead of a double because they had not correctly registered the reservation. The first night in the double bed went fine, but we woke up and the bed collapsed, the wooden legs gave way (we checked and one had been attached with silicone). We reported it, but they didn't even change our room, they just told us to move to the upper part of the loft with two single beds. Every night was a problem to come back with a gate with a non-functional lock, having to try to force it open without even having the access code which seemed to be top secret and for internal use only. The packaged breakfast costs an additional 5 euros per person if brought to the room, there is no savory option but only sweet, and the fruit is almost always too ripe, almost rotten. What can I say, the location is nice, beautiful Arab part Kalsa, but it's clear that the property owners are not from this industry and have no intention of updating themselves.

Gentile Ermelinda, ciò che ha scritto è ingiusto e offensivo, ma è il suo giudizio e lo rispetto. Mi occorre però precisare quanto da lei scritto. Premesso che lei non aveva nessuna prenotazione presso la nostra struttura in quanto aveva dimenticato di fornirci i dati della carta di credito per formalizzare il suo voucher, le ricordo che la sua camera era una quadrupla cosi come da lei specificato per la quale avrebbe dovuto pagare un supplemento che non le è stato chiesto. Vi abbiamo dato una sistemazione nonostante non aveste camere prenotate. La prima notte avete Sporcato le lenzuola ed i cuscini di sangue e non ci avete comunicato nulla (pertanto è normale dovere pagare un supplemento) In quanto al letto evito di fare allusioni alle sollecitazioni cui è stato sottoposto per spezzare due piedi e non uno. Inoltre il cancello per via delle cattive condizioni meteo ha subito un urto ed ha avuto un problema di chiusura che abbiamo sistemato il giorno successivo. La colazione in camera si paga come servizio extra, cosa che è abituale nelle strutture ricettive, quindi farebbe bene a viaggiare di più e a conoscere meglio queste realtà piuttosto che offendere chi lavora e suda per farvi avere dei piacevoli soggiorni. Everything perfect. I recommend this structure to anyone looking for an authentic experience in Palermo. The location is great, in the heart of the Khalisah district, the rooms spacious, clean, and equipped with every comfort. Posizionata in un buon punto per la visita della città. Sergio il gestore una persona disponibilissima che mette veramente a tuo agio. Ci siamo stati, in moto, per quasi una settimana e se torniamo a Palermo di sicuro ci andiamo di nuovo.

Ho soggiornato solo due giorni presso il B&B, ma posso assicurarvi che ci siamo trovati subito in famiglia, l'accoglienza e la simpatia di Sergio ci ha subito colpiti. L'ambiente è accogliente bello, moderno e il cortile è proprio una vera chicca..e le torte della mamma a colazione una vera delizia. Se torno a Palermo non potrò fare a meno di tornare a trovare Sergio!

Abbiamo soggiornato quattro notti in questo B&B nel cuore del quartiere della Kalsa, un antico quartiere dai contrasti molto evidenti, che a mio avviso sintetizza molto bene l'essenza della città di Palermo. Una ristrutturazione molto ben fatta, che valorizza la piccola corte interna, ideale per rilassarsi un po' dopo una giornata in giro per la città. Le camere sono molto confortevoli e pulite, tutte con aria condizionata e arredate con gusto. La colazione, con cornetti e dolci freschi la prepara Sergio, il gestore, persona disponibilissima e solare, prodigo di informazioni sulla città. In particolare ci ha risolto in quattro e quattr'otto un problema che avevamo avuto con la macchina a noleggio (ci era stata cancellata la prenotazione dalla Hertz e lui ce ne ha trovata subito un'altra). Che altro dire, buon rapporto qualità prezzo, lo consigliamo veramente!
